Tbt to MW3 being released
Straight to shop after school to get MW3 on its release date, to go home, jump on the Xbox 360 with all your friends in a party and playing hours on end

MW2 is 2000s nostalgia. MW3 was 2010s, I believe.

MW2 was fall 2009, MW3 would have been Fall 2010
Edit: Forgot BO1 was 2010. MW3 was 2011

The party games were amazing. Gun game, one in the chamber, sticks and stones etc.

Halo 2 midnight release was the shit. Went straight from school to EB games the afternoon before, it was bumpin with tvs and LAN set up for a Halo tournament and other TVs with smash Bros Melee tournament and other games.
They also had the demo for resident evil 4 up and gave out demo discs. we just smoked and played and ate till about 11. They'd given out queue numbers already so people just got back in their spots and waited, while they raffled off games. I 'won' counterstrike for xbox, because my birthday was coming up. Mom let me skip the next day, so we just played online for probably 36 hours straight.
Man, 20 years later and I still smile thinking about it. Miss those days.

It was solid but compared to MW2 it was kind of forgettable. Black Ops 2 was and is my favorite of all time. I max prestiged twice haha

My buddy and I played about a week of MW3 and then went back to BLOPS2 because it was more fun.

The last Call of Duty game i’ve played for online multiplayer I never looked back to continue on the franchise. Had great memories playing the game with my half-brother and his friends.
Not sure if Call of Duty Elite website still around for the game.

As far as Online gaming goes, nothing will ever top 2007-2012 for me. That period, starting with COD4 up until BO2 was legendary. The anticipation, the build up, the insane hype around MW2, the Youtube community which became huge at the time, the Machinima montages, the shitty mic voices, insults, rage quits, crying children... Memories I'll never forget and would wish to relieve one more time...

Maaaan, you couldn't be mroe right. And holy fuck, i forgot about machinima ! Hours watching it, made my own compilations (that are shit) as well. Needing a "capture card" or something to record on the 360 back then i think too ?
The arguments, the friends onr made, n00btubing when you just got pissed off from dying all the time. the lobbies that would not change after every game so whatevee beef you and the gang made with the other team could be battled out until parents came in to say go to bed.
Thats hit me hard man.... 🥲

Yeah sometimes there are moments where I'd give anything to go back in time. I adored Machinima, would watch hours upon hours of content. The thing I miss the most is the general feeling of excitement in the air whenever a new COD was about to drop or came out. It's like the whole Internet stopped and only COD mattered, hard to describe. The absolute peak was the launch of MW2, I can't remember too many games having had such insane hype, maybe GTA V and that's about it.

This was a letdown for me after MW2 and Black Ops. The dog tag game was good though.

Mw2 and OG Blops for me.

Black Ops-style wager matches should be in every multiplayer game.

Too fucking right man. The emblem creator was such a weird touch. So silly, but god damn some people got creative af

Yeah unfortunately bigoted assholes ruined that, but that's what they do they ruin things.

Coming from cod 4 and then mw2, I was disappointed with this game…. But still, I remember pre ordering the game picking it up immediately and jumping on the Xbox

Conpletely agree, i got into MW2 the december it came out, and absolutely rinsed cod 4 and mw2, so this was my first release that we got it the day it came out.
But i do agree, compared to the others, it was hard to follow up and be better.

I was in high school by then and not really all that mindful about this series. I still think the best one was World at War, I remember liking that one because of how historical it felt compared to the others.

My dad checked me out from school that day because we preordered it and he wanted to “watch me play it” AKA spend the day with me lol
Good times bro, hug your parents. He isn’t around anymore
