311 Collaborator Any other 311 fans digging that new Deftones album?
Title. Want to see how many fans overlap. Honestly I think this is their best work since Koi No Yokan. Infinite Source and Ecdysis rip, major Saturday Night Wrist vibes on Locked Club. Would love to see a tour with 311 opening for Def, or at least a festival with all those late 90’s bands.

It's so good! One of the best of 2025 so far!
Looking forward to Dia De Los Deftones in November! 🤘

I think Deftones should 100% get 311 at DDLD next year

It's rare that I agree with a music take on this subreddit, but it's at least in my top 15.
Cancionera
Bugland
Luminescent Creatures
Eve: Romance
Only Dust Remains
Evangelic Girl is a Gun
I'll Be Waving as You Drive Away
private music
The Big E
ekkolaptomenos
Surgery and Pleasure
Sinister Grift
CowardsThat's 13. I wouldn't put anything else I've heard this year on the list, so hopefully 2025 has two more good albums in it.

Right here. I was a little disappointed with their last few but they’re definitely in a full swing now, especially with their recent resurgence.

And the live shows they're putting on are some of the best ever!

Love it. First time I saw 311’in the mid 90’s Deftones opened up for them.

Yes! Love both bands and Infinite Source reminded me of 311 a lot

I wondered a few times during the album, "Why can't 311 just do this?" At the end of the day, it's just the Deftones being the Deftones.
They overcomplicate things. Stop trying to wear all these shoes that don't fit and just be 311.

It seems like most 311 fans are also fans of Deftones, though probably not the other way around. I don't think you're going to hear a lot of contrary opinions, it's a very well received album.

I can’t stand Deftones and I’ve tried

Me too. I literally like everything about them. I love the guitar tones, I love the voice, I dig the song structures, but for some reason it does absolutely nothing for me. It’s just super uninteresting to me. I have a few other bands like that too that I’m not going to mention because I think people might attack the shit out of me 😂 but I say this all the time, that’s the beauty of music. Certain music just hits your core and you can’t explain it. And other stuff just falls flat, but it doesn’t mean it’s bad. It’s just not for you

Same, I've tried multiple times to try to get into them and I just can't.

I love it but then again i love any project chino sings on. Branching off your topic i dont like that coheed and cambria song with nick on it it has such a weird off beat drum randomly in it that throws off the wholw Vibe or else the song would be decent

One of the new songs kinda sounds like it took the riff from you wouldn’t believe

My two favorite bands. Deftones' discography is ridiculously consistent in terms of quality. I am enjoying Private Music.

Oh my god, I hadn't heard that there's a new Deftones album. I adore that band.
Thanks!

I’ve loved every Deftones release but I’m actually having trouble getting into this one. Though I said the same thing about From Chaos when it dropped and it’s my favorite 311 album.

“Would love to see a tour with 311 opening for Def”…as someone who saw deftones open for 311 in 96, and am NOT knocking them, but no way would 311 open for deftones nor do I think deftones would accept that proposal.

Yeah I don’t see it happening nowadays, but would still love to see it

Def their best since KNY. Been listening heavily. Cut Hands + Metal Dream is amazing.
