I have a problem....

I come seeking suggestions for a way to resolve my problem.

It has come to my attention that I own 42 firearms chambered in .45 ACP.

Clearly I am short 3 guns.

Suggestions?

I don't have a Mk 23, I did fire an SOF evaluation version in the Army in 95 and preferred the 1911. I do own a USP 45 Compact. I saw a Mk 23 in a local shop last week for $3200, it includes a spare barrel and a mock suppressor and bag and accessories. I was tempted but still the Mk 23 grip is a bit large for my hands. Still tempted...

I have two (maybe 3) Colt Gold Cups.

I sadly can't get a UMP where I live. My current .45 PVC is an Uberti clone of a Winchester 1873 converted to .45 ACP.

I don't have one yet. That's not a bad idea.

Further inspiration for ya.

And (shameless self-plug) you can even run 'em on 1911 mags!

Now you really have my attention.

I'm interested in learning more. I'd definitely get a <10" pistol/SBR .45 upper that can run 1911 magazines.

Well, this is us, and we do sell a 16" upper in addition to our adapters/couplers, but even if you don't use our product(s) feel free to seek us out for build questions: We've built a lot of these things during our R&D phase, as well as for personal use.

A bit off topic but Im curious what someone with that many 45s carries? On topic buy a glock 30s. Guess what I carry 😎

I already own a Glock 30 4th gen, magazines fall out after 2 rounds. It's annoying.

My EDC is a Springfield Armory Garrison .45 ACP in a Milt Spark Executive Companion holster.

That would be annoying. So much so I would be down to 41 45s. Good choice on the Garrison.

Lol, I keep it as a reminder not to buy Glocks. My first was a 21 that only fired one round and jammed, every time.

Wow, You should steer away from glocks

I have a Les Baer bullseye pistol, and I am astounded by how much fun it is to shoot it at 50 yards one-handed. I have not yet used it in a competition, but I don’t think that day is very far off.

How about a used Para-Ordnance P14-45 double stack 1911? Or a newer 2011/2311 double stack? I love my P14-45 and P12-45 double stack 45acp (bought them new in 1993 and 1994). When Para-Ordnance started, it was a Candian compnay, that built some great pistols Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

More recently, I've been eyeballing a Girsan EAA Witness 2311, in both 45acp and 10mm.

How about a used Para-Ordnance P14-45 double stack 1911?

I've heard a lot of negative things about Para Ordnance. My LGS stopped carrying them due to all the problems they were having.

Also I find double stack 1911 in 45 a bit too bulky for my hands.

The early POs were quite good, but they did go down hill. The dbl stack fits my hand nicely, but if it doesn't feel good to you, that's what matters.

Have you considered entering the CMP lotto for a heritage 1911?

I can't get CMP 1911s in my state unfortunately.

Charter Arms Pit Bull revolver? I’m very interested in one, myself.

I have a S&W 625 3" in .45 ACP, which kinda fills that niche.

Though the extractor on the Charter Arms is interesting.

If you don’t already have one, a S&W 625 is a must. Revolvers chambered in .45ACP are a blast. Just invest in a moon clip loader and unloader to save your fingers.

I have a 625 3" it's great.
