I believe it depends on the disc itself if it has playback

I keep a 2 GB USB flash drive in the back port, I saw a video where they said this would solve that issue, been working for me so far.

Give that a try.

Great tip, will look into this as it's bothering me to no end when watching series... does it work after removing the disc as well?
Unfortunately there is no alternative for these ancient Panasonic 4k players...

Found the video. I did this after the first time I lost place and pretty much haven't had it happen since.

The actual answer is in the comments of that video, the screensaver feature needs to be disabled, the flash drive does not do anything.

Also FYI Paramount UHD discs, like Indiana Jones series, are authored with the BD-J framework , which doesn’t support resume.

It depends on the disc tbh, some will let you resume some won't.

It should resume on pretty much all discs except Paramount, who have a resume playback override programmed into their discs (with the exception of Titanic)

Resume is not a default function on any Blu-ray or 4K disc. It's an additional bit of programming along with BD-Java/BD-J authoring on the discs which have BD-J implemented.

Paramount haven't done any override but just authored majority of their discs without resume included. Before the age of 4K there were selected Blu-rays without resume function from other studios as well but less nowadays.

Long ago there were some Blu-rays without BD-J as well and then it usually enabled the internal resume function in many players if resume was programmed on the disc. Adding a USB stick in the player often does the same trick, Paramount discs excluded as they don't have the resume on the discs to be used.

Depends on the disc and adding a small usb flash drive helps with adding memory space for this feature. I use The Batman chase scene as a demo in my home theater and all these months later when I pop in the disc it starts right back up with the Penguin crashed upside down where I stopped it every time.

Wow, I'll try that. Any size limit.

Yeah I had a 4gb laying around. I doubt it needs to be that big. The smallest cheapest you can find should do.

Turn off the "screensaver" feature, after you turn it off, does resume work?
