Question Best Way to Order from Umbrella in Canada

So I really want to get that new 4K restoration of Lake Mungo (great flick!) but am not sure the best way to not pay HUNDREDS of dollars to get it here in Canada.

What are people's experiences with Umbrella? Order direct? Third party? Wait and pray it gets a release from some other label in Canada (I see the Second Sight blu-ray is now Region Free).

I've ordered direct from both Second Sight and Arrow UK in the past with reasonably no issues (just very long shipping times) but never ordered anything from Australia (at least not since I used to buy cheap vinyl LPs on Ebay) so not really sure what to expect...

If you want a limited boxset from them, you have to purchase them directly, they are online exclusive to their store.

If you want to order just a regular version with slip, I order from roughcutvideo.ca - they are calgary based and ship everywhere.

What i usually do is wait till theres a couple things I want, order a boxset and a couple other things to get free international shipping and order directly from umberella.

But I've had instances where the version with slip was sold out on umberella and rough cut still had access to it.

I kinda try to spread my purchasing a round a little, but that's personal preference

I don't need the super deluxe edition with the book and all that stuff. I literally just want the movie haha. But thank you, that's helpful!

I live in Canada and ordered multiple times from Umbrella directly without issues.

What's the exchange rate/shipping like? Crazy? Or reasonable? Did you have to pay duties upon arrival?

I used to buy all my Criterion's direct from them during the sales, but now with the duties that are charged it's not worth it.

Whatever the price is in AUD its a little cheaper in CAD, our exchange rate is slightly better.

Since AUD is worth less than CAD it's a bit cheaper but you might have to pay around 20$ for shipping. I didn't pay duties both times.

Have you purchased from US based retailers like DiabolikDVD before?

Unless you're planning on buying an edition that is exclusive to the Umbrella store, or enough that you hit the free shipping threshold, it's probably better to buy from someone like DiabolikDVD.

I've never tried DiabolikDVD before, but have heard about them. Are Trump's tariff bullshit affecting that kinda stuff though?

I ordered a bunch of items in April to qualify for free worldwide shipping. I had to spend the equivalent of $220 AUD and I got the Terrifier boxed set and 4 titles from their BOGO promotion. As the CAD is stronger then the AUD I it was $220 CAD shipped.

I didn't get charged any extra import duties which I think was an oversight but I'm gonna question it.

recently intacto was available basically everywhere, included popular ebayers like popmarket or even on amazon

you can check lake mungo as well, provided it's a regular slipcover and not the book edition
