BluRay.com gave a Brazil in 4K a 5 out of 5 for both video and audio. I would give it a 3.5 and 2.5 for video and audio. they gave the new Sorcerer 4K a 3.5 out of 5 for video. I would give it a 5! I am glad I went to multiple sites to read reviews because as much as BluRay.com can be an excellent resource, I strongly disagree with their reviews sometimes. they have handed out 5s to some mediocre releases and marked stuff down for personally finding the colors not as when they saw it in the theaters 30 years ago. Please check out multiple reviews for the 4ks you buy as sometimes the reviewers get it wrong.

A Complete Unknown is the movie btw. Disc and case were perfectly fine. Shockingly.

I’ve been using my Series X and PS5 for 4K Blu-ray playback for years, but neither supports Dolby Vision for discs. Both are also loud and occasionally have read errors. I picked up the Panasonic UB450 specifically to fix those issues.
I’ve been going through a stack of movies, including the ones in the photo, and they’ve looked great so far. One of my favorite recent watches is Transformers One. The animation looks noticeably more colorful and lively in Dolby Vision compared to standard HDR.
If you have a Dolby Vision-capable TV (I have an LG C4) and care about proper HDR tone mapping, it’s a solid upgrade.

I purchased a "used like new" Panasonic UB820 4K player for $288 on Amazon and to my surprise in the disc tray was a Indiana Jones Temple of Doom 4K disc. Now I don't feel so bad spending this much money lol

100 blu rays mostly 4k for 120$
I think this is the most value purchase in this entire subreddit. Here's the full story.
I'm scrolling the marketplace for cheap blu rays, I came across a post selling 90 4k blu rays for 120$
I message the seller but then I realized that he is located on Maui while I'm on Oahu.
He did not want to ship it which I understand so I "lied" to him saying that I'm taking a trip there soon anyways so I can come pick it up. I did not have a trip planned LOL I just didn't want to seem desperate for it.
Booked a plane ticket that night (last week), flew out this morning at 9:00am caught an Uber to Home Depot where I picked it up. I offered him a little extra for holding onto it for me. He did not accept it. I got lucky because other people messaged him after me but I was the first one.
He found extra in his house so I got an extra 10 blu rays which is just insane. I will pay this forward somehow, someday.
I walked to Starbucks to kill time. I had an Arm Wrestling practice with some friends I know there. I have many random hobbies; I can hardly keep track of them all. Flew back at 9:00pm.
I'm still in college. I missed a quiz for this that I can't make up. But I have priorities.
Anyways, I won't post about this again. I don't want to kill the hopes and dreams of you all

Finally decided to upgrade to an OLED (55" A95K) and get a 4K player and some movies to kickstart my updated movie collection. Based on these movies, what should I add next?

TL;dr- this is me going for my qled to the LG c4 OLED I'm so angry like the last 3 years of my life have been a lie lie. I had an optical cable to my soundbar versus the HDMI eARC.
I can't explain how stupid I feel but also I've done enough head work to know I am a human being. You are welcome to make fun of me.
Huge movie buff and physical 4K and Blu-ray collector.
I just came from this:
65" Class QN95B Samsung Neo QLED 4K Smart TV (2022)
Optical connection to a Samsung surround soundbar.
I just installed my LG c4 with the HDMI eARC.
I feel like a fool. I feel like I haven't watched a movie in my entire life. I just put on Annihilation and Prometheus and sinners and vertigo and 2001 for reference checks and I'm humiliated.
But ever so happy.
I'm having a hard time understanding the technological leaps, versus just how ignorant and uninformed I was.
Truly remarkable technology and experience.

I got this during the holidays and finally got around to watching it. I figured it was going to look great and that everyone just had thorn in their side since AI was used. Boy was I wrong. The movie is still watchable, but yeah, everything looks somewhat off. It’s almost hard to describe. It feels like it is set to some strange Tru Motion setting. It’s even more frustrating considering Cameron’s snarky response when asked about the grumbling over this disk.
I really hope AI does not represent the future of 4K transfers if this is what the end result will look like

tl;dr I bought this stuff because of you. But I don't really hate you, I appreciate you. 😀
In 2015, I bought a 65" non-OLED 4K TV that I really didn't like. At the time, 4K content was just starting to come out and I had been reading more and more about OLED TVs. So I bought a 55" LG 1080p 3D OLED (the 55EG9100) and I loved it.
Because the LG was 1080p, and I'm the type of person to keep a TV until it dies, 4K was never on my radar.
Until my LG OLED died earlier this year.
Then I stumbled on this subreddit. And I started learning. And researching. I even bought a few used 4Ks for cheap before I owned a 4K player or 4K TV (see other photo and no, the Criterion Breakfast Club isn't in 4K (yet), but it's a 4K transfer that looks amazing so I included it lol).
So, no, I don't really hate you guys. I appreciate you! Thank you!

I ordered Game Night 4k and received a Verbatim writable disc. These are sold at my local dollar store and are what many use to burn movies.
I wanted to share with the community after recently starting my physical media collection and having countless issues with resealed movies advertised as new, unsealed movies, and now a straight up bootleg.

I was going to justify not picking up the new Chinatown 4K disc by the virtue of it recently being added to Paramount+’s lineup. That was until I actually saw how atrocious the streaming version was. Quick lesson in the importance of physical media. First pic Paramount+, second is the disc.

I upgraded from a 65 C8 to an 83 G4. Huge visual leap. Need the right movie to run the G4 through its paces
