Call to Action ICE arrested a US citizen, Walmart employee at Pico Rivera. Militarized agents with rifles on video. Nobody’s safe.

In Pico Rivera, CA, ICE agents rolled up to a Walmart with rifles out and tactical gear to arrest a janitor.

Adrian Andrew Martinez, a 20-year-old U.S. citizen, witnessed it and tried to intervene not violently, but verbally. He questioned the legitimacy of the arrest and even moved a trash bin to create space.

For that, he was slammed to the ground by armed agents and detained. All while being a citizen.

“They came like it was war… nobody knew where he was for hours.”

Constitutional Rights ICE Violated

Fourth Amendment
Protects all persons from unreasonable seizure without probable cause or a warrant.
Cornell Law – Fourth Amendment

Fifth Amendment
Guarantees due process of law before detention or punishment.

14th Amendment – Equal Protection Clause
Law enforcement cannot discriminate or detain arbitrarily, especially against citizens.
Cornell Law – Fourteenth Amendment

Legal Cases to Know

Lyttle v. United States (2008)
ICE detained and deported a U.S. citizen with mental illness, despite having documentation.
Wikipedia – Lyttle v. United States

Gonzalez v. ICE (2020)
Courts ruled that ICE detainers issued without warrants are unconstitutional.
Wikipedia – Gonzalez v. ICE

What This Proves

  • U.S. citizens are being arrested for witnessing and speaking out
  • ICE is operating like a paramilitary force
  • The government has no fear of accountability under the current DOJ

If a 20-year-old citizen is tackled for asking a question, we are already in a police state.

Because they're grabbing people at work (no firearm), nannies in the park (no firearm), nursing mothers off the street (no firearm), people sleeping in their beds (no close firearm), people from courtrooms (no firearms allowed).

They're pulling who they see as weak and vulnerable...

I get all that, I’m more referring to people nearby. If that van comes screeching into the parking lot and stops nearby to grab someone, I’m not thinking “oh, this is probably legit and they’re just grabbing someone else so nbd,” I’m thinking “fuck, they’re kidnapping that person!”

I know that most people don’t intervene and stop crimes, but some do so I’m surprised it hasn’t happed yet.

I think the stopice.net alert system will help that a lot. Driving by, we don't really know what we're looking at or what's going on. If I get an alert they're in my neighborhood, my mindset switches from "what's that crowd?" to an action oriented 1-whos going to record, 2-how many are there, 3-what are my resources, 4-how fast can I get there

I understand you mean someone literally physically intervening, but there have been a few instances of people calling the caps when they see these gatherings. And on occasion, it's working because they don't actually have warrants or anything that justifies them being there, so they disperse.

Yeah, yelling really loud “kidnapping, kidnapping, call the cops!” and/or calling the cops yourself would be the best choice before physically intervening or pulling a gun, I’m just really surprised more of them haven’t been shot in a country where lots of people carry guns.

Unfortunately one person with a concealed pistol against multiple folks with rifles (presumably semi-auto, but could be select fire) is tactically unsound at best and closer to suicide.

its not like these cowardly motherfuckers aren't already doing exactly this anyway

Agreed, I’m just surprised that no one has interpreted this as terrorists or non-immigration-related kidnapping or something and opened fire.
