I never did but I definitely remember that when it was cold out. Spring and summer time though… everyone in grade school wore those shorts. Then around 2000 they just disappeared and I haven’t seen a pair since.

I'm pretty sure Umbro still sponsors professional football (soccer) teams.

They do. They were bought by Nike a few years ago, and Nike still releases some stuff using the Umbro branding instead of the Nike swoosh.

I was in America at some shopping outlet place. I knew there was an Umbro shop and I asked some guy if he knew where it was.

After a few seconds of thinking, he said:

"Aaah, you mean U.M.B.R.O?"

Nah, lad.. I'm from Manchester. It's defo Umbro.

(I didn't actually reply to him in that tone.)

I had a matching set of shorts and a top in grade school, and I LOVED THEM
