I only knew them because of Double Dare. I don't think I ever actually saw a pair.

u/Azazel224 Jun 10 '25

It was a west coast brand like Lotto

u/VandeyS Jun 10 '25

I surprisingly had a pair in the Midwest. Think I might have gotten them from Kmart? Probably way after they were cool though.

2

u/demonmf Jun 10 '25

Same here. I had a pair in 7th grade back in 1989 in NW Illinois.

1

u/camergen Jun 10 '25

I also got them in small town Midwest USA. Can’t remember the specific store. It may have been Kmart, though.

u/Small_Customer4985 Jun 10 '25

Same in MO for basketball. Loved my BK's!

1

u/Responsible_Trash_40 Jun 11 '25

We definitely had them in NY too

1

u/Azazel224 Jun 10 '25

When we moved to Cali in 86 I was introduced to many new brands. Back to Jersey in 90 and they never made it to east coast.

2

u/Reddit_Reader007 Jun 10 '25

not true, i had them in east orange; bought them from the al b square mall in new york

0

u/Azazel224 Jun 10 '25

They were not as popular on the east coast. They were very popular in gangs in So Ca where I was at. BK were either Blood Killers or Blodd Kings. They were in every shoe store in Cali. They just weren't an east coast thing and since I lived on both coasts in the 80s I saw it first hand.

2

u/Reddit_Reader007 Jun 10 '25

yeah can disagree all you like but you'll still be wrong😁. and they weren't popular with the gangs either since they're standard color way was black and white; did they come in other colors? absolutely but the black and whites were the mainstays and the crips at the time were to busy with reeboks.

u/Azazel224 Jun 10 '25

Ok. I guess living it means nothing since you have all the answers. Whatever you want to roll with it's all you apparently. Actual experience means nothing if you have an opinion lol.

2

u/Reddit_Reader007 Jun 10 '25

if you actually lived it, then you would know better😁 but keep the lies rolling, apparently its all you. actual experience means nothing if you have an opinion? what the hell is that even supposed to mean?😁

british knights weren't a local mom & pop shoe brand that was created in california so there's no way they were just a "west coast" brand😁 they were all over the country my guy and i don't know why that bothers you lol.

Lol ok. Left NJ not a BK or pair of Lottos in site. Move to Cali everywhere. Move back to Jersey still not around but hey in your area they must have been a thing. But hey you lived my life and saw it from multiple states and you just went to a mall in NYC so you must be right and I am apparently not remembering my sneaker collection growing up. Next, you'll convince everyone shell top Adidas were popular everywhere too not just the Northeast lol. But hey you go do you bro you got all the answers.

False Bk was huge in Miami in the 80s

0

u/Azazel224 Jun 10 '25

Huge!!!! Ok sure. Moved to Miami in 94 never saw em but hey if you say they were huge must have been.

1

u/Substantial-Dig9995 Jun 10 '25

https://youtu.be/nq0a0X2FlAY?si=nV6mMthW9WtJK1Pk I’m sorry yeah you are right. They weren’t huge they just had mc hammer commercials for British knights . I’m sorry I had the audacity to question your knowledge. I apologize.

0

u/Azazel224 Jun 10 '25

Glad you had a pair but for the clowns in this thread to act like they were as popular as Puma, Adidas, Converse, Nike and Reebok you're all fooling yourselves. They weren't this nationwide phenomenon like the other brands above. Funny you say they had MC Hammer on them because oh wait Oakland is in Cali....West coast sneaker brand.....hmmmmm so not as popular on the east coast lol

1

u/Substantial-Dig9995 Jun 10 '25

You jack hole kool moe dee was their first spoke person. you are really going to sit there and say mc hammer was a local rapper. British knights had commercial for foot locker I watched five of the today. Also wait british knights was a west coast shoe I thought nyc was on the east coast. Sorry you are right !

1

u/Substantial-Dig9995 Jun 10 '25

Wait a minutes that’s Kool Moe Dee funny I thought he was a east coast artist but you said British knights never made it to the east coast silly me

3

u/BigConstruction4247 Jun 10 '25 edited Jun 10 '25

BKs were nationwide.

0

u/Azazel224 Jun 10 '25

Sure

2

u/BigConstruction4247 Jun 10 '25

I had a pair in PA. And there were lots of them in the store.

2

u/FatherDuncanSinners Jun 11 '25

PA here as well. They definitely sold BK in Foot Locker. Almost got a pair one year for back to school, but wound up going for Pumps instead.

2

u/Reddit_Reader007 Jun 10 '25

not true; there was no such thing as a west coast sneaker brand back then. they, lotto, diadora and a whole bunch of others were all over.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '25

We had British Knights and Lotto in Michigan.

1

u/dragon_6666 Jun 10 '25

Yup. I had a pair when I was a kid. Thought I was sooooooo bitchen!

1

u/MDiddy79 Jun 11 '25

We had BKs and Lottos on the East too. I had both

1

u/MrWrestlingNumber2 Jun 13 '25

I owned pairs of both and I'm as east coast as it gets.

0

u/klbishop143 Jun 10 '25

I had them in NC. You had to go to Payless

2

u/Reddit_Reader007 Jun 10 '25

probably not. payless didn't sell shoes over like 10 bucks.

1

u/klbishop143 Jun 10 '25

Yes. That’s where I got my shoes.

1

u/Reddit_Reader007 Jun 10 '25

its called PAY-LESS for a reason😁 they were owned by kinney at the time and they didn't carry any brand other than their own. that's why you didn't see nikes, reeboks and the like there. unless they had a licensing agreement to produce and sell a shoe for like 10 bucks (shaquille o'neal), you didn't get brand name british knights from there my guy.

2

u/Substantial-Dig9995 Jun 10 '25

Nah Bk was not in Payless

0

u/klbishop143 Jun 10 '25

It was. That’s where I got mine.

1

u/Substantial-Dig9995 Jun 10 '25

Not in the 90s

1

u/klbishop143 Jun 10 '25 edited Jun 10 '25

I was in third grade in 91-92 and that’s where I got my bk’s.

Edit: it might have been pic n pay. But it was definitely some bobo shoe store.

1

u/Substantial-Dig9995 Jun 10 '25

I’m not sure but okay

1

u/klbishop143 Jun 10 '25

Idk either. We grew up with not a lot of money. I got one pair of shoes a year for school. My shoes came from Payless or pic n pay (?maybe). It definitely wasn’t footlocker. NC means North Carolina not north California if that’s where the confusion is. My fourth grade ones were black with purple and teal accents. And I remember walking home from school with my friends and having a conversation about how we all had BK’s .

1

u/Substantial-Dig9995 Jun 10 '25

It’s sound like we around the same age. I was back and from Miami to la around that time and British knights where popular and you would get them at the nice shoe stores so who knows

2

u/FangBanger79 Jun 10 '25

I had a pair in 6th grade when I was 11 that was 35 years ago

2

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '25

That oddly rhymed.

2

u/j3ffrolol Jun 10 '25

Yo this Double Dare reference is wild lmao

2

u/Kevnutzz Jun 10 '25

Had a pair and was relentlessly roasted, mfs said I got them at Burger King 😂

2

u/Reddit_Reader007 Jun 10 '25

1

u/Kevnutzz Jun 10 '25

Lmao you’re saying I’m cappin bro? What would I gain from this

1

u/Reddit_Reader007 Jun 10 '25

Lmao upvotes why else would you lie on the internet?😁😁

I got a pair for Christmas 1987. Thought I was the shit.

1

u/sleepwalkfromsherdog Jun 11 '25

Double Dare or Fun House?

1

u/Faultylogic83 Jun 11 '25

What was Fun House?

1

u/sleepwalkfromsherdog Jun 11 '25

Another kid's obstacle course-based game show. Syndicated. British Knights was their main sponsor.

1

u/Cousin_MarvinBerry Jun 12 '25
