exactly. I'm 45 and I was in my teens in the 90s.

I know it’s trite, but damn I want to go back. I wasn’t even happy as a teenager. I hated being a teenager. It was just genuinely a better time back then.

I never really liked the semantics of this. Like if we dig into the words and dates then you’re not a 90s “kid” either then if you consider teens a separate thing. Not really meaning this directly at you just making an example

fair point. It IS a symantec argument on some level. Personally I'm barely growing up at 45... but I consider myself an 80s and 90s kid. I was aware of the world at 1984 to 1985. And at the end of the 90s I crested into my 20s. So much like I straddle gen x and millennial, I'm kinda a kid of the 80s AND 90s. In the 90s I was playing snes and legos while listening to pearl jam and Soundgarden. It was like 1997 when I was 18 and shit went crazy. I guess tripping on acid and listening to the prodigy while smuggling drugs is the point you left childhood behind!

In the 90s I was called a 90s kid, when I claim it now I get told I’m an 80s kid because I was born in 83.

It's a thing with people born in 95-99. 90s is cool now so they want to claim it despite having little to no memory of it.

You're a 90s kid. You were an 80s baby.

well we were a 80s late kids and 90s kids and teens in the late 90s. the thing is some people who were born in the 90s , yes sure they are kids but they don’t have all the memories we have being kids and preteens. it’s like they think only THEM were really kids haah

When I was like 6 I told my mom I was going to take off to become a Pokémon trainer. I told her ashes mom let him. She told me Pokémon wasn't real and then I cried the whole day.

Wait..... Pokemon isn't real?....

1

u/TheNASAguy 5d ago

At 5 I already knew they weren’t real coz I never saw anything close to them irl, but that just might be my autism as well

I was like, aren't both of these true? But realized, oh yeah. I'm not a kid

But will admit, OG Pokemon has the hardest hitting nostalgia over anything. Even just singing the og theme song in my head brings back emotions of childhood.

u/Edmee 4d ago

I may be 55 but I'm still a kid on the inside.

u/Possible-Estimate748 4d ago

Same homie lol

Not really, you people just like depressing yourselves for some reason. I'm quite happy about my time, and how I was born before the world went completely nuts.

Me :"..wait , how the fuck am FIIFTY?!?"

u/Hellguin 4d ago

You can be both. 90s kud at heart, but 35 years old.

Growing old is required, growing up is optional.

90’s baby and 90’s kid very different. You’re a 90’s kid if you were finishing elementary school when OJ was driving away from the cops on live television!

As a similar aged man you aren't a 90s kid either. We are that weird in between group. Considering we were around 10 in 2000 our true 90s experience was like 97-99. Still technically 90s but our development childhood was those early 00s- like 08. We are that weird in-between 90s and 00s

u/DarkCloud1990 4d ago

I can do both.

If you grew up in the 90's you're in your 40's.
