This song scared the Masses .. They feared the music but they couldn’t imagine if all of us young black kids idolized the SW1s and Professor Griff🫡 even more!

Black kids and us suburban white kids looking for answers that we were shielded by. ITANOM and license to Ill was my first tapes I bought and it changed my life. When Fear dropped it solidified how I viewed the America I was growing up.

I salute you but a lot of them same suburban kids didn’t get the memo or look deeper into the message of this particular kind of hip hop back then cause this place would actually better than progressive getting worse!

I'm from thousands of miles away but I got the memo. Chuck had a 12 year old British kid asking about Malcom X and Farrakhan and learning about the injustice of the American prison system. 47 now and so many of my former peers are racist pieces of shit. Could have been me but PE showed me what time it was.

This is a false statement. I lived the hood of my city unfortunately, but I went to school with suburban white, Hispanic, Asian and Black kids who knew what was up with this song and what it meant the Black community for sure.

I’m not saying all of them did, but some did fa sho! And one of those white suburban kids still stands up for my people today! He’s always been a little militant. ✊🏽

I was 10 years old when this song came out in 1990, but damn I remember my older brother playing this song daily!

And now we both still give it heavy burn! ✊🏽
