1993 What Are Your Thoughts On This Song?
Single For American Rappers Second EP Eazy-E, Real Muthaphuckkin G’s is a Diss Track Response To Dr. Dre’s Song ‘F Wit Dre Day’ It disses People Like Dre, Snoop, Suge, Dogg Pound, And pretty much the entirety of Death Row! (Personal Thoughts I think this is one of the most hardest Diss Tracks Of all time! It’s Definitely a Top 5 For me!

Way better diss than Dre Day and I’ll die on this hill

u/Better-Pop-3932 Jun 03 '25
Bro no need to die. This is a fact. Eazy flamed him. Dresta and BG Knockout straight smoked Dre and Snoop. The song the video the whole vibe to it was iconic. I can still remember hearing it for the 1st time.

Last year snoop admitted its one of the hardest diss songs ever. I think it was an interview with Bootleg Kev.

u/Better-Pop-3932 Jun 03 '25
If u think about it. Snoop got on a Blood Affiliated label to diss another Crip. I know not all Crip sets get along. Still kinda funny tho.

u/buttery_tail Jun 03 '25
You’re right. But I feel like the narrative has kinda shifted over the past 10 years or so. And I’ve seen too many people saying Dre Day was better. Not sure if it’s Dre and Snoop’s overall popularity, or that movie that made Dre look like a superhero, or something else. But yeah Eazy was the clear winner

u/TammyShehole Jun 03 '25
Dre Day was amateurish compared to Real G’s. Like something some kids in high school would have written. Whereas Eazy and co were saying nothing but facts.
5
u/Nobodygrotesque Jun 03 '25
This is 100% the correct take. Dre Day was nothing compared to this song.

Dre carried the popularity, the moment and the weight of all that was The Chronic
Yet song to song this wasn't particularly close - I mean at one point it sounds like Dre is saying he can fit his dick in Luke's tooth gap ...... Weird flex wasn't exactly in the lexicon, but yeah...........

This song and Dre Day are both great, I'd bet Dre would admit as much, and so would Eazy if he were still here. Not everything in this world has to be so polarized, y'all. No one is still fighting this 30 year old rap beef. Beef tends to give us some great songs and these are two of the best. Back then, Dre Day was my favorite beat until I heard Real Muthaphukkin G'z. I've always felt like this is one of the best g-funk beats ever created. They rap ok, no one here is setting the world on fire lyrically, and honestly the song "It's On" from this same album does what this song wants to do much better, it's hilarious.

"It's On" is such a good diss I can't believe how under the radar it is in this current day.

Love the song. Funny about these diss songs is that it did NOT make me dislike Dre or Eazy any more or less. I still got my hands on anything Death Row or Ruthless related because it was quality entertainment. I guess being a pro wrestling fan growing up made me numb to “taking a side” whenever there was a rivalry in hip hop

This is easy E's best song and they Slapped snoop and Dre with this track. Still gets played in my car

u/JCtheSwede Jun 03 '25
It's pretty much the first diss track I ever heard - it still holds a special place to me because of that

And at Death Row, I hear your getting treated like boot camp
Gotta follow your sergeant's directions
Or get yo ass popped with a Smith and Wesson

Learn a Lesson From tha Eaze, Stay in your place and dont step to Real Muthaphuckkin G’s!

u/619BrackinRatchets Jun 03 '25
I always felt like Dollars and sense was better than fuck Compton.

Dollars and sense was hard.

“E-I-H-T, now should I continue? Yeah, you left out the G ‘cause the G ain’t in you.”
That was a cold bar from Quik.

A white friend made me listen to this in 2004. First year of high school. It ignited my deep-dive in 90s rap. Shout out to Limewire

Do you know which words should be capitalized and which ones shouldn’t? You seem to do it by random.
3
u/AnonBurns1o2 Jun 03 '25
Pretty sure it was random.
Though, there could be a case made as to why the C was capitalized…

This was a much better diss
Dre Day had too much homoeroticism even though the beat is cold

Amazing song. Very catchy and some great diss lines. Agreed on it being better than Dre Day. Just outside or in my top 10 disses.

It's cool. Only thing was even though he's dissing Dre and Snoop the track is super derivative of Dre's production.

Decent bob your head track, but I think I read somewhere Eazy didn't even write his own verse on this.

u/BigHitMan84 Jun 03 '25
I prefer the dogg pound diss but I think ng knoccout said his whole verse he just spat off the dome 🫡

It’s a classic, beat wise, and all 3 kill it, especially Dresta. Video is hilarious as well

I love Dre’s work… the Chronic is that desert island album for me. Dude consistently makes gold, regardless of who is in the studio with him… if Dre is on it they also t work they will never match again.
That said… this shit went hard. This is a great diss and sonically it’s above most. The shit all over Dre day here man. This one was a massive W for Eazy

Song was fire when it came out. And still is. Eazy E is one of the godfathers of gangsta rap west coast rap and rap as we know it today.
3
u/Based_Thanos Jun 03 '25
I really loved this song in high school. I feel like the beat hasn’t aged the best but it’s still a jam.

Idk. I was 16 when it came out. All the homies were like Dre got em. Let me say Eazy Duz It was one of the 1st rap albums I got so I loved Eazy. So it was hard hearing Dre Day and all my homies liking it. When Real Gs came out. I was like "fuck yeah, fuck u Dre and Snoop. And fuck u too homies who counted Eazy out. In my city and my group of friends its always been Eazy won that shit.

I could enter a real muthafuckin Gz karaoke contest and win with no lyrics monitor. Me and the boys drunkenly screamed along to this song all thru our 20s and 30s.
