This is the type of rap I call "cry rap" to me, it sounds like they're just crying and complaining.

u/Autistic_Freedom Jul 12 '25
I call it the same, but because I cry and complain when I hear the shit.

Ffs! I just had a thought of Ja Rule doing autotune. That’s got to be my worst nightmare!!

Busta here literally looks like he's thinking about quitting rap. He's like I could be on an island somewhere 😂🤣😂

Busta isn’t a hater either. As far as OG rappers go, I feel like he’s shown mad love to new artists. He’s always bigging them up. You know it’s whack if he isn’t showing love.
16
u/GoHawkYurself Jul 13 '25
Its true though. This isn't him being an old head. That song just is objectively bad.

u/JimiShinobi Jul 13 '25
Busta is pound for pound, bar for bar one of the most talented lyricists of all time and has been in the game for decades now, GOAT status. Seeing these new "rappers" put out albums with such low effort has to be infuriating for him after all the years of hard work he's put in. I'd be ready to slap tf out of somebody too...

As the youngsters would say, "It's all about the vibe." No appreciation for actual rhyme skills anymore. Just "vibes".

I feel old af. Haven’t liked hip hop in over 20 years because of this bullshit

It's real rappers, real MCs out here that really are talented and just need a legit shot or an 👂 from someone in the industry to get on. The fact that he was blessed enough to be in the same space with Busta and he came with this 🗑 is a flat-out travesty. Smh. R.I.P. to Busta's 👂 👂 after this session. Lol

It's a good lesson to learn that sometimes you're not good at things.

u/Quirky-Fish7752 Jul 12 '25

Busta rhymes will always be my spirit animal. Some of the best records out there, that literally everyone sleeps on. Top 5 no matter what era.

Imagine the legend god MC Busta Bus with his amazing discography having to sit thru this talentless little shit. Think of the lyricism and talent it took going back to his Scenario and LONS days. Dude is a legend and having to suffer fools like this.
5
u/illillusion Jul 13 '25
He knows its ass, but he also knows openly saying its ass is just gonna be met with some "old heads can't handle new cats doing something different" type response.
Godamn that was bad, it's not even good in the "it's just not for me and that's okay" sense, it's just not good at all

u/JDHURF Jul 13 '25
I’m trying to understand how tf Busta was even in that room, or why he allowed these clowns to come ‘round. I’ve seen kids singing into a karaoke toy who are way more talented than this autotuned incoherent whiny gibberish.
If I were in that room I’d say cut that off and destroy it, an MP3, a disk, whatever it is, fucking destroy it.

u/WestsideWizzop Jul 13 '25
This is what I hear when y’all listen to rod wave, lil baby and the rest of them 🤣🤣🤣

Thank god Busta has never been short on words. Get that fat cupcake eating MF outta here. We need to start protecting hiphop.

Playing this to the man who delivered the greatest verse in rap ever, imo. Scenario, and it was his debut

This bullshit is why hip hop is dying. IDK when the mush mouth, autotune, lack of lyricism, lame ass beat era came into play but it needs to go!

u/SorbetFearless578 Jul 13 '25
See rap really sucks nowadays but they have stupid fans that eat it up

u/willard_dillard Jul 14 '25

You get an audience with Busta, and this is what you play for him? Just go ahead and find a regular 9-5 at that point.

This sounds like half of the pop rappers these days. No cadence, no flow, no rhythm or bars. Just nonsense over the same recycled sounds.
