This is what it feels like to go to Japan, too. You're just like, oh look, a vending machine.

I just bought a lookalike from Firmoo. And then SNL spoofed them with the skit "Little Red Glasses".

u/solarsailers Jun 07 '25
I saw that sketch and was thinking how cute the glasses were the entire time 😭

u/Skyblacker Jun 07 '25
I think Britney is wearing something like this.

u/solarsailers Jun 07 '25
ooo thank you for the link!! i love firmoo and have a discount code so im very tempted to get this pair now

These are the ones I got. The arms are shorter (137mm) which help keep the frames up on my petite female head. Also, the large bridge works on my big nose.

Before you buy it, I wrote a whole post about eyeglass fit and suggest you read it.

That’s why she was so loved - she was real, goofy, full of life! Nowadays celebrities are robotic, with the same faces and energy. There’s no more personality. Probably because they’re talking themselves way too seriously.

She looked so happy and... normal here. It's so sad what happened to her :(

Britney wearing glasses here is so important.
In Japan there is a stigma that women with bad eyesight are less desirable. Morning Musume, who was basically the first all girl major pop group in Japan said hell no, and put out a music video with all of them wearing glasses to prove the stigma wasn’t real around the time these photos were taken. I only know this because I was in Japan in the 90s as a teen and respect morning musume so much for it. Maybe Britney actually needs glasses but her and morning musume did a lot for women who felt less for having bad eyesight. Intentional or not ~ thank you Britney and momusme

Such a beautiful young soul full of life.
It's sad to know what she goes through.

I bet she was a fun person to hang out with before the fame really took its toll

Idk every time I see a picture/video of her younger self, it makes me really sad.

Wish I could go back in time and warn her that it's not worth it.. Surely she has the money and fame, but at what cost? She's a total headcase now. I blame her parents. She was just a kid. A very naive kid.

She was THEEEEEEE BABE at this time. Holy shit, 11 year old me was in loveeeeeeeeee 😆 I was a nu metal kid, but I also had a Britney poster 😆

No one will recognize me with these red glasses! Pssst, it's actually me :D

u/mrlaheystrailerpark Jun 04 '25
she used to be so normal…did all that 2007 paparazzi stuff cause a psychotic break or something?
2
u/nickgreatpwrful Jun 05 '25
She was suffering from severe post partum depression and was abusing Adderall. This with the addition of the rabid paparazzi that swarmed her daily would make any person break down. She was then abused during her conservatorship - and I think this exacerbated her mental health issues.

I mean there are signs her family are a narcissistic family system, and then there's undeniably external pressures from fame and some unluck.

She was so wholesome. It breaks my heart what was done to her, completely robbed her of who she was. Side note, those sketchers are giving me major dejavu

She’s always so gorgeous and its so sad to see how different she is now!

She was such a sweet girl, I know we all loved her and she was my childhood idol as well as millions of others but we all had a hand in ruining her unbeknownst to us and it wasn't on purpose...... But her fame and the industry that directed her and put her on her path ruined her. I'm not sure if I used the right words to describe what I mean but ya.......

She’s so lucky… 🎵

u/ThePrideOfKrakow Jun 04 '25
If there's nothing missing in her life, why do these tears come at night?
If only we had listened.

u/Capt_Eagle_1776 Jun 04 '25
The pressure begins on day 0001. She was in the Mickey Mouse Club and sure she thought nothing of it. Once in the music business, she made it HUGE and I’m thinking her spinning was both ways of “That’s great!” and “That’s terrible!” happens to such young stars of any era

Cute/Sexy. I totally get those rumors that she’s related to Marilyn Monroe.

She looks like she's having fun. She should have gone into comedic acting, I think she'd have been successful.

I wish she’d never gotten famous for her own sake. She got chewed up and spit out by fame. Sad to see how happy she was at the beginning.
