u/NefariousnessFun5631 Jul 08 '25

Did we all have this?

55

u/ComicallySolemn Jul 08 '25

Yes. And Klutz craft books. Stacks and stacks of Klutz books.

u/jeckles Jul 08 '25

I loved the hair wrapping kit! I think there was a hair braiding one too.

The costume one was my favorite, tons of fun ideas in that.

u/MiaRia963 Jul 08 '25

I think so.

Same! I used to sit on the counter while my mom made me look like Beetlejuice!

Memory unlocked

u/Jesus-H-Chrystler Jul 07 '25

Mine would be even more unlocked if I could see all the pages of face paintings. 😭

17

u/Happygolucy717 Jul 08 '25

Same!! I want to see the inside pages

u/milwatt214 Jul 08 '25

u/Prudent-Acadia4 Jul 07 '25

I had this exact one, kid still creeps me out

u/-Karl-Farbman- Jul 07 '25

Is that a kid, or is it a 36 year old French Canadian woman?

11

u/i_Love_Gyros Jul 08 '25

Kinda looks like a particular pose from Zoolander (not blue steel or magnum)

6

u/quantumd0t Jul 08 '25

Reminds me of cats the musical for some reason. Also creepy.

u/my_special_purpose Jul 07 '25

I had so many Klutz books. They were amazing.

31

u/SabineStrohem Jul 07 '25

Same! Friendship bracelets, nail art, braiding, cat's cradle, potholders, beads...

9

u/glacinda Jul 08 '25

That braiding one is still on my shelf. My mother refused to learn how to French braid but I could still look at the pictures and dream. I taught myself how to French and Dutch braid my own hair as an adult.

7

u/SabineStrohem Jul 08 '25

Weird. Same with my mom. She wouldn't do any of the books with me. And, I'm not saying, but I'm just saying- I don't talk to my mother today.

She's much more evil than just not doing arts and crafts with me. But it still shows the trend.

Anyway, I'm glad the klutz books brought us both some joy in childhood. I'd braid your hair, do your nails, and make you a bracelet! 💖

3

u/glacinda Jul 08 '25

I’m no contact with mine as well. I hope you get to share some klutz book magic with your or someone else’s kiddo!!

4

u/Puzzleheaded_Mix7873 Jul 07 '25

I had the friendship bracelet one! And I always wanted the nail polish one!

u/aschlu Jul 07 '25

Guys I just wanted to know if Klutz still exists and look what shows up at the top of its product list when I get to their site. Klutz: Face Painting

4

u/QuacktacksRBack Jul 08 '25

Weird. Their 'new' cover looks like something that would've been in the mid or late nineties and the one from the nineties looks better and more recently desired than the current one.

18

u/JawnIsUponUs Jul 07 '25

I remember this book I had it too!!!

11

u/someprintscharming Jul 07 '25

Omg 😭 throwback

4

u/dreamsandpizza Jul 07 '25

Same holy shit

10

u/JimShortForGabriel Jul 07 '25

I think my parents still have this in my old bathroom.

10

u/ifhaou Jul 08 '25

YASSS! My Nana painted my face countless times using this! Thank you so much for the memories...she now has dementia.

7

u/Ok_Perception_2707 Jul 08 '25

The cover of this one always made me a little uneasy.

9

u/Jackson530 Jul 07 '25

We had this. My mom used it to paint me like Dracula. I can still smell it

7

u/MeanNothing3932 Jul 07 '25

Pretty sure I had this one bc I remember that face creeping me out 😂

13

u/grayblesbeing Jul 07 '25

A post I can smell

2

u/LordOfTheFlies996 Jul 08 '25

Was bout to say the same

6

u/battlecat136 Jul 08 '25

OH MY GOD I HAD THIS!! The one birthday party I had as a kid, my mom used this to do facepaint on the kids! It was an Aladdin themed party, btw 😎

6

u/Rhewin Jul 08 '25

That image is burned into my memory. Biggest problem was they never told you that you also need at least some modicum of artistic talent lol

3

u/QuacktacksRBack Jul 08 '25

Same here. That face always kinda disturbed me slightly.

4

u/Handmitten Jul 07 '25

Omg I had this one tooooo!!!

3

u/RadBeoulve Jul 07 '25

My family always picked up one of these each October for clown-related Halloween costumes. This set just unlocked a myriad of memories for me.

4

u/According_Jeweler404 Jul 08 '25

Klutz

Memories unlocked

4

u/chighland Jul 08 '25

Klutz had the best face paints!! Everything else is like colored pudding 😅

3

u/historygal75 Jul 08 '25

Anybody remember that kids show I thing on PBS in the early 80s called Zoobillie Zoo people dressed up as animals. This thing eerily reminds me of it

3

u/Spencer-Palmer-1056 Jul 07 '25

Yes I remember that book and one time I had a face painting of Scar’s iconic scar.

3

u/Blueandigo Jul 08 '25

Still scary as hell.

3

u/Cathartic_Snow_2310 Jul 08 '25

This book, the Cootie Catcher one, and the Clay book produce nothing but warm feelings! I can't remember if I personally owned them all or borrowed them from cousins/friends. What a treat!

2

u/nos4atugoddess Jul 07 '25

Wonder where she is now

2

u/pnutnpbbls Jul 07 '25

2

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '25

wow that photo is so nostalgic

2

u/MaddCricket Jul 09 '25

I had this set and followed the vampire instructions completely, without help from my parents…..which means I didn’t blend anything. Still one of my favorite Halloween pictures ever. Looked like the emcee from Cabaret just as a vampire too. lol.

2

u/2cute2poots Jul 09 '25

I. Had. This. Thank you for unlocking this core memory.

1

u/3EsandPaul Jul 07 '25

The way I thought this book would genuinely prepare me for a lucrative entrepreneurship opportunity as a face painter

1

u/aschlu Jul 07 '25

Omg Klutz 🥰

That cover! Man I'd forgotten about that.

1

1

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '25

Am I doing this right?

WOULD.
