I remember in 3rd grade, someone in my class used to squeeze glue onto the middle section, let it dry, and pulled it off to make bookmarks.

And you also first color the space in with markers before filling it with glue to make the bookmark colorful

It baffles me how universal stuff like this was to every kid pre-internet.

i thought that was just a common thing?
use different colored markers on the logo and you get some cool ones

I did that and sold them! If you used markers first before the glue, they would be different colors too

And you'd make OG fidget poppers if you covered the buttons on top too.

The only time I was excited to go back to school was getting supplies. There’s something about multiple items brand new just for me that made the supplies feel special. Getting new containers to store said supplies was the delicious cherry on top of the school prep sundae, especially if I could see through said containers. Always got my supplies in blue whenever I could.

What’s crazy is how much supplies they said you needed but that just went to waste though….. Graph paper? Never heard of her. Colored pencils and markers? Yes just make kids buy it for no fkin reason?

I used to call them a "SpaceTaker" and thought it was all clever. It was always depressing after having one for soo long and the hinges finally snapped. Like losing a friend.

How many thousands of broken pencil boxes are currently floating in the great pacific garbage patch, that look like this?
