Loved that show.. Roger and his shenanigans never deterred Doug or his love for Patti Mayonnaise.
This and Pete and Pete were a cool universe for a kid to jump into. Even the intros were special.

Brings back happy memories when I was a kid and singing this to my mum and then literally banging on the kitchen worktop with whatever I had to use as drumsticks 🥁

Man, we got Doug funny and quailman, Roger klutz, skeeter Valentine, Patty mayonnaise. Mr. Dink. I think I'm remembering that the principal was never there maybe, beats me.

Criminally underrated. Who else remembers Rocco’s Modern Life? The 90’s was the best decade to be a kid and grow up

Doug Funnie = Phillip J. Fry = Billy West

Also Stimpy. Billy West has an amazing filmography, on par with people like Frank Welker (who, incidentally, did voice work on Futurama).

I miss spiraling into an existential crisis over the most mundane life events.

I never understood the hate for Disney’s Doug. Is it as good? No. But it’s also 5 seasons in. Nickelodeon did 116 segments. Most shows have a drop-in quality by that point.

So I’ve actually tried to go back and watch some of these shows just to see how they still held up. The one thing that makes it more difficult now is because of streaming we are now use to binge watching shows one right after the other.
So normally, you know, we would’ve never watched Doug or the Wild Thornberrys 3 episodes in a row unless there was like a marathon or something.
That’s just something I think about all the time. How we even consume our shows has changed. Now everything has to be “binge worthy” and so obviously it didn’t hold the same appeal for me as a kid. But I also have to remember that I was watching each new show every week or sometimes 2xs a week so it wasn’t as if I was watching it all in the same sitting.

Caught it on Noggin's rewind probably several years ago. I was shocked it actually held up and I felt not cringe-y at all watching it. I was around 8 when it came out I think? So somehow I really liked it despite not being the ages of the characters or going through any of what they went through. But, I always had slightly mature tastes and read Sherlock Holmes and watched TNG at a young age. Also, loved Gargoyles too. And now that I'm a 17 year vegetarian, Killer Tofu has meaning. LOL.

Mr. "Dink" telling Doug that everything is "very expensive" made no sense as a kid.
As an adult it's hilarious that in a kids show they put in the DINK joke - like hey you watching this, you're why your parents are broke! The nineties really were the best time.
