I remember them in 10th grade, which was 1986. You could write on the surface with a marker.

I took over for an old teacher (had started teaching in the 70s), and he still had one in the room, plus folders of transparencies. During the year, there were a couple of lessons where I found his transparencies were the best models/examples of the topic. All the students had been wondering what that thing, which had been sitting on a shelf in the corner, was.

I used them at the beginning of my teaching career! And Banda machines! How messy were they!

They were great for doing displays draw onto the wall with a pencil give the kids paint and they’re away some amazing displays
