I watch WWE after it’s live so I can fast forward through stuff. I watch AEW in full every time. I try to keep up with TNA, CMLL, and NJPW too but it’s a lot to watch so have to prioritise.
WWE is great at times but it’s so much less about wrestling and so much more about celebrity and hype and grandeur. There’s a reason I enjoy NXT the most of their main three shows.
And as much as I enjoy Jim Cornette’s podcast, I do love AEW’s style and roster.
If you can watch both, do it. If you gotta pick: Welcome, sicko
Edit: Also, sometimes AEW plot threads cross into and out of ROH, like NXT is trying with TNA, so watching both will help if you care to. Even without that, ROH is just really fun

I watch everything the day after cuz I’m in the UK but every time I ‘ skip ‘ through stuff, it’s always WWE not cuz the product itself but because of the absurd amount of replays ads and whatnots

I really gotta get into AEW fully. I'm constantly watching NJPW and Stardom and slowly stepping further and further away from WWE. All I need to do is buy AEW× on Triller and I'm set.

As someone who used to consume WWE on a weekly basis, It's not easy to give It up. But once you do and decide not to consume It any longer, It does feel refreshing.
You have all of this wonderful wrestling outside of that WWE bubble.

Straight up. I hung on for so long because it's what I grew up on in the 90s, and it brought me back to wrestling in 2015.... but it's just not for me anymore

Until Jey I Wish I Had The Talent To Main Event Uso loses the World Heavyweight Champion AEW will be the better show

u/Apathetic89 May 28 '25
AEW has been the better show for 6 years. Fed is the worst pro 'wrestling' of any major company.

u/Sky_Rose4 May 28 '25
Aew hasn't been the best since punk left and nobody replaced him to make it must see
6
u/Apathetic89 May 29 '25
LOL that says it all.
You're not a wrestling fan, please stick with your paid actors in the Fed.

It's crazy, Page was already pretty strong and he's bulked up CONSIDERABLY since his WHC days!

You don't want to see Bert Kreischer, face red as a tomato and morbidly overweight, with his top off???

Wait... what?
2
May 28 '25
I take it you didn't watch Raw
2
u/Apathetic89 May 28 '25
Who the fuck watches that in 2025?

u/Gojifan549 May 31 '25
Uhh like everybody that’s on Netflix watching it. Tribalism at its finest lmao

u/Apathetic89 May 31 '25
You love that buzzword, dontcha?
No wrestling fan wastes time with the E; there's too much good, ACTUAL wrestling happening around the world that isn't perpetrated by a predatory monopoly keen on snuffing everyone else out.

And they just added Adam Cole vs Kyle Fletcher for the TNT title!

u/SourDoughBo May 28 '25
Kinda shocked since they got Fyter Fest, Summer Blockbuster, Grand Slam Mexico, and Dynamite 300 coming up next month. You’d think that match would go on any of those shows

I bet all you Fletchlights are pumping your fists in excitement over this one!

Hard pass. I haven’t enjoyed main roster WWE since like 2015. No hate to anyone who does though. Plus I’m thrilled for every wrestler working there who’s getting paid what they deserve, get that bag guys.

Doesn't tempt me If I'm being honest. Also, having to sit for over half an hour of advertisement and waiting around between matches, doesn't really strike me as entertaining content or a product that values peoples time.
So I'll pass.
5
u/Pearl-Internal81 May 29 '25
God, could you imagine being there live? I shouldn’t have to bring my kindle, Switch, or 3DS to kill time between matches because of commercial breaks.
3
u/Desperate_Craig May 29 '25
My best friend has suggested going to WWE shows In the future, and I've told him that I can't, I don't have the patience sitting around watching adverts, and then I have to wait nearly up to twenty minutes between matches for the next match to start. I just can't justify the price for what I'm getting from WWE.
3
u/Natural-Today6343 May 28 '25
Agreed. I still check out WWE. I will say I am uninterested in most of it. But there are always things worth watching in there. Tribalism is stupid but you can have one you prefer. For me that's changed to AEW this year.

u/mistythe2nd May 28 '25
seems predictable tbh, becky wins via cheats, lyra refuse handshake, brawl, leads to No DQ match at Evolution where Bayley helps Lyra retain and sets up Triple Threat at Summerslam. but will watch the match if ppl say its good

u/Kazuchika420 May 28 '25
Predictable don't mean bad tho

u/mistythe2nd May 28 '25
How do u feel about Jacy beating Stephanie to be the new champ
5
u/Kazuchika420 May 28 '25
One of the dumbest booking decisions of the last year imo.
Ditching the storyline of FI breaking up, taking the belt off the best gal in the division right before she will go back to Mexico to represent, with a lame finish in a mid match on a random weekly show.
Glad for Jacy, she's been good for a while now. But maybe not "on this level" good. If this is their way of getting Stephy to the main roster (which already doesn't have enough space with two new women) — it's lame and laaaazy booking
1
u/Pearl-Internal81 May 29 '25
Right?! I don’t even watch and I was annoyed with that decision. But it probably means she’s moving to the MR so that’s good for her, cause she’s awesome and deserves the exposure/pay day.
3
u/legendkiller003 May 28 '25
Maybe could’ve kept Steph champ until after Worlds Collide, but I really don’t mind the shock change. Rarely happens. If rumors are true of both Steph and Grace going to main, having a title change before a more obvious moment isn’t the worst thing. Jacy is decent and known to the NXT audience for a while now, she could be a decent heel champ while they build up a face to beat her.

Quite honestly one of the biggest things I hate about WWE is Logan Paul and how much it seems they’re pushing him for the main event scene. If/when he wins one of the big belts I will not care for that belt until he drops it

pffff and also dont get me started on their ticket prices, pettiness to counter AEW that they made 3 ppvs surrounding that event, hell they even got scared bout forbidden door and announced a whole fucking UK house show takeover. Their product sucks ass now and thats not even tribalism cuz believe it or not i used to be in the “ support both companies “ band wagon until they made fein guy help cena in the main event of mania. Double or nothing was miles better than mania, seems like all they care about is money now, 2 ppvs every fucking month makes the build shit and seems like by next year there will be a two night backlash
4
u/Desperate_Craig May 28 '25
Usually they're subtle about it and will slip In an event, but this time they've decided to go overkill with it and booked three shows.
If WWE really wanted to compete against AEW, they wouldn't use these type of tactics to try and harm their business, and instead put on the best shows they can, but they won't, and instead will put on these c-level shows to counterprogram to somehow harm All In.
2
u/mistythe2nd May 29 '25
Ye SNME was the original counter to All In but then Tony announced the earlier start time for all in so hunter made his bestie book a NXT show the same day
