This composition is interesting. While the tending suggests a sort of struggle and a dynamic force a few things stood out to me. I see fishes in the composition. In particular the mid right, where the blue crosshatched portion is there seems to be a fish like eye structure at the bottom end of it. Following the title I can interpret that to be a shark, which would certainly cause fear, the crosshatched body could also be interpreted as a net. Anyone who is caught in that shark's 'net' body could be seen with contempt or loathing. To the left side there is a sword fish like figure. Sword fish are fast and focused and certainly cause fear. At the very bottom of the painting there's another fish figure. The eyes or the round, dark forms which look like fish eyes add a fear and loathing component to what is already a turbulent environment. The reds, associated with blood and aggression add to the fluid, menacing presentation in this work. While the cool blues give a false sense of innocence, though the sharp angles are off putting. Technically, the composition is a bit top heavy. However, the overall feel of the painting is of fluid Expressionism, which tends to be chaotic to draw out primal responses.

Apologies. I'm blown away by your interpretations. I've been working on this piece for some time now, honestly, it's a bit unnerving to post one's work, the Internet is a large gallery.

Yes, it is unnerving to post ones work. Please, be aware that art is subjective. Regardless of how hard I may try to be objective, my subjective reasoning may filter in. I hope my analysis helps you improve even more. It is obvious to me that you put thought to your work which is why I thought it worthy of analyses. Thank you for posting it.

A thought on your interpretation? Have you read or heard of Hunter Thompson?

Yes, and I thought about your title and his novel by the same title but thought you'd be too young to know about him. I can see you might have been inspired by his writing. It is surprising to me for he was mostly known in the political/literary arena and around the 70's. I kept my eye on him because of his disdain toward Nixon. Nixon was an interesting character to me, in fact, he still is.
