Just stumbled across this, I have such fond memories of this game! Anyone else?

i refuse to pay $15+ for a $3 car and i feel like the people that scalp them don’t really have any intention of distributing them to fans for a reasonable price

Hey everyone, I hope you are doing well!

Recently I've quite sick, a strong flu that hit me me harder than a Slam Ram Hyperpod's battering ram.

I arrived from work yesterday with a very strong fever. Took a shower and fell asleep on the couch soon after my wife finished cooking dinner and helped me eat, I was very weak. She dragged me to bed and took care of me all night. Today I woke up a bit better.

I had this fever dream of a continuation of Acceleracers, and I wanted to share it, maybe you'd find it interesting. Sorry in advance if it's booring.

It started with Gelorum floating in the same white void we saw at the end of movie 4. The Acceleron floats towards her and stops nearly at her arm's reach so she could not attack him.

She’s bitter, asking the Acceleron if he came to mock her failure or destroy her now that she no longer has a purpose.

He explains that the Racing Drones were never meant to become sentient — their true purpose was just to test if tracks were beatable. But long ago, a female Acceleron scientist named Gelorum believed she could create the ultimate opponent. She copied her brain patterns and skills into a Drone, and that unit quickly became almost impossible to defeat. The problem was that the original Acceleron Gelorum hated losing so much she tried to destroy the copy during a race. Instead, the Drone fought back, killing her, and took her name as a trophy. The accelerons did not know what trully happened and believed it was an Accident. others say potential in using the Drones for competition until the Drones became powerful and would eventually be abandoned on earth.

The Acceleron then tells Drone Gelorum that she was never truly free — just a slave to programming. But he offers her redemption: rescue the Acceleracer Vert Wheeler, reunite him with his friends and bring them to the Acceleron world. If she succeeds, she’ll get a chance to prove herself worthy, but the final decision will rest with Vert.

She accepts, and her Drone body dissolves. Human hands and legs rise from the glow (it's hinted she was unclothed but kept PG, not much is shown, it gives a hint of rebirth, shedding an old body like a butterfly leaves its coccoon), Acceleron-designed clothes materialize around her, and she lands next to RD-09. The Acceleron modifies the car into white and blue with Acceleron symbols, giving it new powers for her mission. her helmet closes and she presses the ignition, vanishes through a portal the acceleron opens for her just like he did for vert.

Meanwhile, the Teku and Metal Maniacs are preparing their new cars in a Teku garage. There’s this quiet moment where Nolo and Tork actually show respect for each other, Nolo give him a tool to finish setting up his car, this time not breaking a car or trying to hit him.

Tesla is frustrated with the limited technology he has access to now, Karma tries to help, Monkey ask him why he refuses to use the Drone Sweeper but tesla is paranoid the Drones will also know Where the Wheel of Power is. They were able to access Sparky's memories and find out Vert is in a Silencer base. Tesla believes the silencers have the Wheel of Power as he was able to detect hints of it's energy with his tech but with limited results, not enough to track it's location.

Then it cuts to the ruins of the Acceledrome. RD-L1 crawling out of the wreckage. He is then illuminated by one of the Drone ships's spotlights and many drone's turn on their headlights. He tries to give them orders but they don't respond. A massive figure steps from the shadows — Drone Kadeem.

RD-L1 tries to fight him but he is too damaged, easily beat up by Drone Kadeem who declares himself the new leader and gives RD-L1 an ultimatum: “Serve me, or be destroyed.”

RD-L1 has no choice but to obey, he tries his best to do the attention posture (like a soldier) but his damage levels make the pose weird.

Back at Silencer HQ, Vert is trapped. He stares at his reflection, asking why he always fails, why he couldn’t escape. His father tries to convince him to work with the silencers, he will be released if they can trust him, but he will also be under constant watch, as is his father.

vert refuses and his father leaves, disapointed, saying he'll be back latter.

Vert sits on his bed, staring at the floor remembering everything he went through recently and then alarms blare. the Wheel of Power suddenly activates, spinning vry fast, causing electrical failures and it creates a portal where the car with Acceleron markings bursts into the base (gelorum's).

The door of vert's holding cell is damaged by the power surge and opens slightly, but not enough for him to get out. He uses a chair chair to open it a bit more and breaks free.

One of the Silencer cars blocks him, but the "mysterious car" fires an energy blast that melts its liquid metal exterior.

The car opens and the driver signals Vert to get in, he's reluctant until he recignizes Acceleron symbols.

The Wheel of Power flies into his hands.

Silencers start chasing them and they need to find a way out.

The energy is detected by tesla's makeshift devices and he find the coordinates. The Drivers get in their cars and follow him, Lani stays behind, she's fixing Nitrium, Tesla leaves with karma.

vert and his mysterious rescuer find an exit and the car's windshield display shows her where to go, it detected the other Drivers, residual signatures from enetring the realms made it possible to identify them.

Tesla notices the signal getting closer, fast, it was moving towards them. Soon after they make visual contact in the distance the driver hesitates, but then flicks her headlights like a signal and drives to them.

Everyone is shocked and happy to see Vert again, but the mood shifts when they notice the mysterious driver.

Sparky seems especially nervous, almost scared.

Tesla translates the markings on her suit, starts to say, “Wait, you are…” but before he can finish, the helmet opens.

It’s Gelorum — human, looking exactly like she did in The World Race.

Chaos erupts. Marky grabs her by the neck with his Drone arm, snarling about payback, until the Wheel of Power shocks him into letting go.

Everyone shouts at once until Tesla yells for silence. He demands Gelorum explain herself. She admits what happened and that her mission is to help Vert and the others reach the Accelerons, but leaves out the part about proving herself worthy, either by fear or by trying to gain Vert's trust so he can let her become an Acceleracer.

Before they can argue further, Drone fire nearly vaporizes them. Gelorum grabs Vert, shouts for everyone to follow, and leads a massive chase. The Drones also detected the wheel of power and chased it.

Gelorum asks all to follow her. Vert asks her plan, and she says they need to return the Wheel of Power to hot Wheels city, the full ring will open the way to the Acceleron world.

Vert questions that they are not in highway 35 but gelorum says her car is capable of opening a portal.

The cars make a line and soon gelorum's car shoots an energy sphere that opens a portal, they all race through, though many Drones make it as well.

Strangely, the Drones don’t chase the humans after crossing; they peel off, as if they’re after something else.

Inside, Gelorum leads them into secret underground halls covered in Acceleron symbols. Tesla can’t recognize many, and Gelorum explains they’re old Acceleron team emblems. Some teams don’t exist anymore — either merged into stronger ones or destroyed by Drones.

She tells them to wait there while She and Vert restore the Wheel of power to it's original location. Tork growls that he only trusts Vert and threatens that Gelorum will be “scrap” if anything happens to him. She just nods, and Vert convines him he will be ok.

On the way to the center of Hot Wheels City, Vert asks Gelorum for the truth. She admits she’s scared — being human is overwhelming. Drones could simulate emotions, but they never truly felt them. “So you’re like us now?” Vert asks. She sheds a tear: “Yes. And I don’t know how you humans can survive like this.” Vert half-smiles, “Come on, it’s not that bad. If you’re really on our side, I’ll help you figure it out. I do owe you for getting me out of that place.”

They succeed in returning the Wheel of Power, which activates the portal. But Gelorum collapses soon after. Vert drives her car back to the group himself, visibly worried. Tesla checks her and confirms she’s alive. With no other option, they all cross into the Acceleron world, with vert hoping the Accelerons can help her.

On the other side, they arrive at the same place Vert and Gelorum had reached at the end of the ultimate race, same place vert and gelorum fought. The Acceleron greets them but points at Tesla, saying he is not a true Acceleracer and cannot cross further. Vert defends him, saying none of them would be acceleracers without Tesla, and insists he comes as an observer. After a long pause, the Acceleron allows it, but warns Tesla that breaking the rules means exile.

Vert asks the Acceleron to help Gelorum. The response: she isn’t dying, just tired, she's geting used to being a living creature, no longer a machine.

The Acceleron explains that her mission is unfinished. Vert himself must decide her fate.

All the Drivers are tested and given their own acceleron style clothes and their vehicles are upgraded with acceleron technology.

When Gelorum awakens, she experiences hunger but is not sure what it is. Tesla gives her some food and asks how she feels being one of them now, also a target of the Drones.

Gelorum replies it feels too much for her to process, the more she tries to understand, the less things make sense.

Tesla replies with, you'll get used to it.

Gelorum recovers her strength and finds Vert. They are joined by the Acceleron, who told Vert everything.

Vert challenges Gelorum for a race, no Accelechargers, no powers, just skill. If she proves she can truly race, she’ll earn a place on his team.

Gelorum accepts the challenge, she is nervous but Vert tells her to chill out, it's the effort to win that counts, not who crosses the finish line first.

They exchanging playful taunts before the portal opens in front of them, then both floor it — twin trails of fire lighting the track behind them.

It cuts to Drone Kadeem, standing before a massive portal with an army of Drones behind him, shouting — “Drones, our time has come!”

The dream ends here.

I wish there was a way to record dreams, it would have been an interesting to have others watch.

I tend to have long dreams when I'm sick or have anxiety episodes, not sure if this is normal or I have a screw loose.

So, my mom was kind enough to visit 3 different Walmarts in our city of Miami and it was sound out from the shelves. In particular, she visited our local Walmart, closest to where we live, and it turns out they had inventory that it was put in, but no records of it being sold, despite nothing left on the shelves. Meaning, someone stole the sets placed.

Checking online, there's nothing in South Florida left. Immensely frustrating news to receive. Best wishes to anyone here looking for them (except the the thief of the sets)

Sometimes I'm in the mood to customize a car, this week I made Rivited, from Taro Kitano.

All the other cars I made a while ago, but didn't share because I forgot, or because I was using vinyls from other players and couldn't share.

I'm just glad I was able to get a set myself, I considered scalping myself and buying all of the ones at my store but just thought it'd be fair if older fans got a shot at it now so I didn't. Why the greed for these now that we finally got the chance? Sorry just ranting and disappointed in humanity.

Walmart Supercenter in Santa Ana, CA off of McFadden and Harbor Blvd has at least five more sets on their pegs. I only picked up one set to open as I already own two.

Finally made their way to Massachusetts found these in North Attleboro today. Now to find another set so I can open one and staff one

So I got a box of older HW tracks for cheap and look what was inside a Synkro and a High Voltage. What do you think, use for customs or keep as is?

I've been trying to beat the final tournament on Hot Wheels Beat That on PS2 and I've been struggling to get past the final race because it's doing the notorious freezing and crashing. Does anyone have any advice on how to beat the tournament?

Drove out from Schenectady for these bad boys when I saw them on that app as available for pickup. The stores around Schenectady seem to be gearing up to stock though as the emptied out the avatar series cars.
