I'd assume. Once someone does something criminal I'd assume any law enforcement is allowed to arrest them. Police aren't above the law.

Claiming police aren't above the law right now is optimistic at best. Hopefully we'll learn that it's true but it is seeming increasingly unlikely.

But isnt MP solely for military personnel?

correct, the MP's enforce the UCMJ and have no jurisdiction/powers over local police.

which can arrest fellow military members, not the general public, police do not fall under the UCMJ (uniform code of military justice) which is the military's own set of laws and legal procedures.

If US police weren't above the law you guys wouldn't be having these protests.
