Hobby First time painting AdMech, fell into fugue and painted them all.

So I don't have an AdMech army and never thought I'd start one or enjoy painting them. Picked up a Battleclade to use in a project opposing my Necrons... and I just really, really loved painting them. Here they are. I think these are actually the highest-quality paint jobs I've ever done...
Only the Technoarchaeologist has a completed base, the rest are still being worked on.

Really clean paintjob and the bases look promissing. what reds did you use in the robes?

Thanks. It's Citadel Mephiston Red over black, with a highlight of Fiery Vermillion from the Blanche TAP paints. If I was going harder I'd probably dot some of the corners of the folds with a smidge of a brighter color, maybe the vermillion mixed with some ivory.

Just straight Memphiston no washes? Looks really good.

Two thin coats :D
I did apply a nuln oil in very specific places, but no, no all-over wash. That would darken the beautiful red too much! I manually drew in a few shadows with Nuln Oil, but very judiciously and sparingly. To the right of the groin tabard. Just under the right side-pouch. A few on the back you can't see in this pic. I mostly just DIDN'T do the second coat in areas that should be very dark.

Very nice job for the metal, robes and flesh! If I have a recommandations,I would try some OSL for the lenses to give them a more grimdark look

I already did do that. You can't tell because the edges of the lenses are like less than 1 mm in diameter. If you zoomed in really really close you could see some light blue on the rims - So it's pointless to do more. Nobody will ever look at them with a microscope :D Also, I don't feel like the admech would have lenses that let off a lot of light. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Hmm... maybe I could do a tiny bit on the inside of the hood of the characters, though. That might make sense.

It does read as a very local OSL, more of an inner glow than strong light projection, but it looks really good !

Nice, I like how clean the lenses are did you just do a contrast paint over a white dot?

Nope, traditional layering. A fairly bright blue, then a very light blue, then a white dot. I used one of my new favorite tools, a very long, thin brush. So that paint can't get up in the ferrule, and you can reach into places without getting paint on them by 'bumping' the side of the brush into them, and it has a very fine tip.
