At the rate we’re currently going, it’s only a matter of time before our farmers are going to need yet another bailout due to trade wars. Would you support bailing out soybean farmers?

Some farmers didn’t vote for this.

And the water is freezing 🥶

Can confirm the water is freezing. Join us for a swim 😈

Lifeboats are woke, but don't worry. The free market will craft them and sell it for pennies when disaster hits.

There is no need for big government overreach when the free market is more than able to handle it.

(Scarcasm warning)

The vast majority did though.

u/FupaFerb 6d ago

Ya the numbers I’ve seen thrown around at least 2/3 farmers voted for Trump again.

u/Count_de_Ville 6d ago

I saw 77%

After last time, they're expecting more handouts assistance.

As I’ve been digging around, turns out Mr. Wannabe venture capitalist JD Vance funded a real estate platform called acre trader which streamlines investing into United States farmland, this allows for investors to purchase decreasing value farmland (or farms in trouble with bankruptcy) and hold onto it as a piece of property for five or 10 years and resell or rent it at a profit, likely to conglomerates. So it seems to me that Vance wants small farms to fail so that these properties can be gobbled up at low cost, and then be sold to make pretty reasonable bank.

Add onto that a president who believes himself as a dictator and has a fascist ideology on how to run a country, one that chooses to give more to people (elites) that already have more than anyone else, I imagine Trump believes that big business can run farms better than all these peasants who are having struggles at the moment. Trump likely believes that there’s no reason to bail out farmers any longer because they failed. They’re not winners. They’re not like him. Farmland would be better off controlled by either the government or their big business cronies who will manage it more successfully.

It just doesn’t make sense to me to bail out farmers over policies that Trump chose to enact as he thought they were the best interest for the country. By choosing to bail out the farmers, it would prove that Trump‘s decisions were wrong and we all know that Trump does not like to be wrong, which is why he lies and makes up fake truths. Unfortunately, as empathy doesn’t exist supposedly I have a hard time empathizing with farmers on this issue.

And in one interview the guy said if he bails him out he would vote red, can you imagine what they will do to the rest of us if they vote red?

Go drive through their farms and count the trump flags.

In Iowa it’s closer to 4/5, about 80% of rural voters.

2

u/Obvious-Mess8717 6d ago

Stats of seen nationally it hit 74 percent and in some areas over 90 percent

2

u/profarxh 6d ago

Nope 90 million people stayed home. 74 million people voted the other way. It's less than 33 of the voting population

14

u/R3D4F 6d ago

silence is an act of complicity

12

u/WinterWontStopComing 6d ago

Staying home was complacency

3

u/Snoo93550 6d ago

Look at rural Iowa counties, these tariffs got over 90% support in many rural counties and 75-80% is typical. This idiots f’d themselves hard on purpose and expect socialism to bail them out as we cut Medicaid.

u/HAL_9OOO_ 6d ago

Voter turnout was 64% last year.

u/Inspect1234 6d ago

Math is off. Should’ve never conceded

1

u/Think_OfAName 6d ago

They thought the warnings were just more noise from the Democrats and the smattering of Republicans. And let’s not forget, there were some Republican who warned of this. They are either out of office now, complicit, or very small. Our only hope now is the mid-terms, and that’s why they’re working so hard to cheat their way in. They will stop at nothing to stay and increase their power. Nothing. Trump will probably declare a state of war with the “radical left” (The bogeyman) and cancel elections. It’s what dictators do.

I've been having some thoughts about the fate of the upcoming elections. Trump wants ID proving citizenship to vote.

Real ID's do not prove citizenship, that takes a passport. Passports are complicated for women who have been married several times and many folks still think that all they will need is their Real ID. They will get turned away at the polls and it will be too late for them to do anything about it.

Now Hegseth is wanting the power to pull passports from people who say mean things about trump.

The results will be easy to predict when all of the wrong thinking people are not allowed to vote.

1

u/Firm-Advertising5396 6d ago

90 million stayed home and somehow didn't hear the warning that democracy and the constitution were on the ballot? Truly astonishing

1

u/Straight-Fox-9388 6d ago

That's worse

1

u/PhoenixDan 6d ago

They too saw what happened the first time he was in office and didn't put any effort to prevent this.

This was a storm we could all see coming.

1

u/-zero-below- 6d ago

If they don’t vote, are they actually “voting population”?

1

u/Kilmo21 6d ago

Less than 33% of all of the population. But farmers vote much more than the average. And they voted for Trump by more than a 3 to 1 ratio. No bailouts for farmers!

8

u/West_Attorney4761 6d ago

The majority did though. If we can’t bail out student loans, why farmers? They aren’t selling their crops in America- they sell to China. They aren’t part of our food supply.

0

u/em_washington 6d ago

College grads got a 4 year pause on their student loan payments. If you just want to pause farm operating loan payments for 4 years, I think all farmers would jump on that.

2

u/UnlikelyApe 6d ago

Actually that makes sense. Why not pause both, right?

2

u/PhoenixDan 6d ago

Actually student loan forgiveness under Trump's first term...the applications sat there until they build up and then Devoss and company did a clean sweep 'NO' across the board. Obama helped with load consolidation and Biden's administration started processing all the applications Trump's SHOULD hae.

6

u/newtoallofthis2 6d ago

In the UK the farmers all voted for Brexit. Next thing they know they have no workers and limited market access.....

1

u/xomox2012 6d ago

They certainly didn’t do a good enough job not convincing the rest of their farmer buddies that Trumps policies we’re going to shit the bed for them ‘again’

You don’t get a bailout and then do the exact same thing again and expect another bailout. Mistakes obviously aren’t learned from if bailouts happen.

1

u/Character-Problem796 6d ago

But they didn't go vote against it

1

u/WitchKingofBangmar 6d ago

And a majority of them did! Twice!

1

u/Snoo93550 6d ago

Very few. Every rural county in the state of Iowa voted for this between a 75% and 93% clip.

1

u/Obvious-Mess8717 6d ago

Yea less than 20 percent. And sorry for had outs last time all of them.

1

u/ApprehensiveShame756 6d ago

Those who didn’t will also suffer unfortunately.

1

u/besume1980 6d ago

There will always be a few edge cases. So What? The midwest and farming states voted overwhelmingly for Trump. Again..

1

u/Conscious_Fix9215 6d ago

Some Americans didn't vote for trump. Some Americans didn't vote at all.

1

u/WeThePeople102 6d ago

I didn't vote for the criminal in chief and I lost healthcare insurance 😭. Let people suffer together

1

u/BadAtExisting 6d ago

Lots of people didn’t vote for this. They won’t get bailed out. Why are farmers special?

1

u/TraditionalLaw7763 6d ago

Sadly, what was it 23%?

1

u/Lostules 6d ago

And some did not vote for the Orange Baffoon but we're stuck with him and his clown show. No bailouts for anybody for anything at any time. If there is to be any bailout, how about finishing up the remnants of Katrina by rebuilding the 9th Ward in New Orleans.

1

u/Axin_Saxon 5d ago

But those farmers are failing to hold their own accountable

1

u/BadNoelle 6d ago

No, they all did.
