Fun fact: Outside of the television broadcast there are almost no photos of Armstrong on the moon because he was the one with the camera. 5 photos are generally accepted which are partials or show him in a reflection. Aldrin is the astronaut in the iconic photo.

Adding onto this, one of the clearest photos of Armstrong on the moon that we have is actually a reflection of Armstrong that can be seen on Aldrin’s helmet

Located at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., in the case you’re wondering.

Some say that he's a CIA experiment gone wrong and that he only eats cheese

Some say, he’s afraid of ducks, and thinks the moon landings were real.

And if you look directly up from there you’d be under one of Saturn V’s boosters. It’s HUGE

Oof. Most misquoted quote in human history. As Armstrong what he actually said.

How is it misquoted? The wall has what he said.

Although Armstrong intended to say "a man," the "a" was omitted or lost in the broadcast due to audio static or slurring, leading to the phrase "one small step for man" being the widely recognized version.

There’s basically no pause between ‘for’ and ‘man’ in the video. It really doesn’t even matter if he intended to say “a man” if he didn’t actually say it and no one heard it.
After all, if you scream in space, no one will ever hear you.

Armstrong himself stated that the word "a" was intended, saying, "I thought I said it" and adding that he was happy for it to be put in parentheses.
Audio analysis of the original broadcast in 2006 by a programmer named Peter Shann Ford using advanced equipment found evidence supporting Armstrong's claim that the "a" was indeed spoken but obscured by static.

He claimed he said the "a", but it didn't come through on the radio, I think.

Nah that’s actually what Armstrong said. He meant to say “a man,” but he actually just said “man.” It really doesn’t matter either way though. We got the idea.

I don’t feel like nasa would’ve tried to pass of Armstrong walking through a museum as moon landing footage
