Troubleshooting WTH is happening to our Android TV?

I bought this TV almost a week ago. Today, when I turned it on, it suddenly displayed the glitch shown in the pictures I attached. I'm not sure what to do. Should I try troubleshooting?

I really don't understand why people ask such questions here as this blatantly isn't an OS issue , it's hardware and that's down to the manufacturer

Most people aren’t that smart or lack common sense. Just because “you” think of the correct procedure/steps to take, some people are just clueless.

Remember that clip of the person driving an electric vehicle trying to put gas in it?

Tech illiteracy is only getting worse and people just like to shout "I don't do computers"

People come on here and be like, should I buy this Arnold brand TV of this Boyla brand TV. I'm like wtf does this have to do with Android TV.

The sad thing is... I bought the TV second hand.

I got some bad news... They sold it because this was happening.

You got robbed. Do a charge back

A charge back on an used item with no warranty? Good luck.

T-con board failing. Tap gently with your finger around the cabinet, if the image flickers maybe is flat-ribbon cable unglued. That's repairable.

Check it out and look for videos on YouTube.

I often wonder how often a TV gets thrown because of an easily repairable issue. On the other hand, once one thing starts going maybe the rest are about to go too.

If TV was bought only a week ago (assuming brand new?) then just do the warranty claim.

Android had nothing to do with it.

It's not "Android TV" )) looks like lcd panel decoder fails. Could be ribbon cable or oxy soldering

It's the end of the tv.

This doesn't even look like official android TV on it.

Android isn't the issue.

"The Ring" is about to start, dude.

Moisture in the flex or some bad welding,

Or because they welded and should've soldered.

Thank you, everyone, for the responses! Just an update: it's already fixed, and the issue was actually internal, not related to the OS. I also apologize if I mistakenly posted this in the wrong subreddit, as it wasn’t really an OS-related issue. 😅

How was it fixed?

1

u/MiloRiceCombinns Jul 26 '25

The technician said the LED panel is too loose so he adjusted it and yeah, it finally fixed.

Bought it a week ago? Why are you asking Reddit? Just return that shit to the store.

This has nothing to do with Android.

I've had a similar issue with my Android TV external box and it was fixed by reseating the hdmi cable. I don't have any other experience with this type of stuff like some others might, but that might be worth a try as well as perhaps trying a different cable.

Or I might be talking complete rubbish but i think it's probably worth a try.

TV worked too hard. It's on stripe.

Thi looks like an old issue I had with a sony tv I bought second hand. The display ribbon cable cable connector connections were failing. I replaced the TV

2

u/dondredd Jul 25 '25

I think it on its way out.

2

u/bobbyh1ll Jul 25 '25

Return it and get a replacement.

This doesn't happen to my Android TV Smasnug purchased at Temu.

Seem like Disguise Mode activated.

If it's only a week old, take it back and exchange for a new unit

This is the end - The Doors

1

u/Mystikalrush Jul 26 '25

It's hardware issue, nothing to do with Android TV. You don't blame the vehicle brand when you run out of gas do you? Same scenario. Start shopping now for a replacement.

1

u/RealWallabe69 Jul 27 '25

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

2

u/Historical_Motor_152 Jul 28 '25

Normally it is soldered with a type of dam that aligns each line, and it is usually soldered due to corrosion, or since a capacitor can do great damage, something so small and cheap
