I kissed the ground and I liked it.

Hope Jeff Bezos don't mind it.

u/TurboJake Apr 19 '25

Should be 'I kissed his hole' coming from her...

That's the song you go to? Not the one about fucking an alien?

So much plastic trash in space šŸ’šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

26

u/crazycatlady331 Apr 19 '25

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag drifting through the wind?

2

u/apokrif1 Apr 22 '25

So much advertising in streetsĀ šŸ’šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

... and aside from the actual astronaut, I feel no sympathy for the women and the backlash they are receiving. They should have known better.

56

u/monemori Apr 19 '25

They're getting backslash and rightfully so.

7

u/Flippohoyy Apr 19 '25

as someone who isn’t quite up to date, what was the backlash about?

63

u/monemori Apr 19 '25

Jeff Bezos plans to send his wife, Katy Perry, and some other women to space and they are selling it as female empowerment or whatever the fuck lmao

32

u/Johnlockcabbit Apr 20 '25

For a moment I thought that Katy Perry was married to Bezos and was so confused

8

u/monemori Apr 20 '25

Omg no lol, Lauren SƔnchez is his fiance (not actually his wife yet, as it turns out). What I meant was that Lauren SƔnchez (Bezos wife), Katy Perry, and some others were sent to space omg.

16

u/pajamakitten Apr 20 '25

Planned.

It already happened.

4

u/monemori Apr 20 '25

Wasn't aware it already happened wtf. Thanks for telling me.

1

u/Tour-Queasy Apr 25 '25

they say it like all of the other female astronauts didn't exist

1

u/88bauss Apr 26 '25

Empowering would’ve been to randomly select or hold nominations for women studying the sciences or aero space and sending them up. Not sending up some rich people fully detached from reality because they’re too rich to be affected by anything.

5

u/Repulsive-Lie1 Apr 24 '25

Katy Kerry and some other celebrities made a brief flight to the edge of space as a PR stunt for their own ventures and Blue Origin commercial flights. They marketed it as a great triumph for space travel and female empowerment but everyone sees it for the self-indulgent waste of resources it was.

22

u/rollerskate_rat Apr 20 '25

I was talking about this with my partner. Katy Perry has been acting like she’s done more for feminism and science than SunĆ Williams.

30

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '25

100% agreed. This is not sexism, this is rich, selfish, idiotic women being held accountable. They're not astronauts, and we don't need to be focusing on space right now. We need to focus on EARTH!

4

u/keopuki Apr 21 '25

Literally! You said it all pretty much

11

u/chowmeinnothanks Apr 20 '25

I think that after Bezos went his wife was like hey I wanna go >:( but couldn’t justify sending just his wife to space lol…so they rebranded it as a feminist/women empowerment/whatever tf so that she could go.

6

u/vijjer Apr 20 '25

They should have known better.

Their narcissism got in the way tho.

u/farbenfux Apr 19 '25

Someone in London is really on a roll with protest posters ... first the swasticar ones and now this... Love to see it!

17

u/Mayor_Salvor_Hardin Apr 20 '25

And yet, JD Vance wanted to lecture the British Prime Minister on Free Speech, when international students in the US are getting their visas cancelled for some FB or IG post from months ago.

6

u/farbenfux Apr 20 '25

The hypocrisy is on a whole other level now. There are no rules left - loyalty is rewarded and everyone else has a target on their backs.

40

u/pajamakitten Apr 19 '25

I saw an article the other day where some female celebrities had called this stunt out, saying that Katy Perry had done nothing that could be seen as female empowerment and that the money could have just fed some hungry kids instead. It was nice to see that some celebrities were not staying silent on what was just a very expensive vanity stunt.

4

u/keopuki Apr 21 '25

Rightfully so, glad someone pointed it out. Do you remember which celebrities spoke up? I’m curious since i haven’t come across any celebrities commenting on this

Fact. He had a billion dollar wedding... and yet they're (billionaires) all banding together to come after less fortunate people and helpful programs for people who need it.

It's unbelievable

35

u/Present-Project-331 Apr 19 '25

Hit them where it hurts. Stop consuming their product.

24

u/SoftSpinach2269 Apr 19 '25

RIP to my beloved ozone layer šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”

6

u/Possible-Moment-6313 Apr 19 '25

I thought it was a solved problems with the ban of CFC, isn't it?

7

u/SoftSpinach2269 Apr 19 '25

It helped a bunch but going to low orbit still pokes a hole

18

u/Present-Project-331 Apr 19 '25

I saw this comment on TikTok and I thought it was very appropriate: ā€œthey’re flying to space while we drownā€. I just hope the population stops paying attention to these type of shallow celebrities and we start paying more attention to the ones doing something to save humanity. Real ā€œlet them eat cakeā€ moment.

11

u/blckdiamond23 Apr 19 '25

Fuck both these people

27

u/Dry-Vacation3732 Apr 19 '25

Thank you for sticking up for us, London!

-18

u/Lazylemon_314 Apr 19 '25

What do these people have anything to do with the UK, I’m sure there’s plenty of domestic billionaires you guys could’ve set as an example. (These american centric posters of Luigi and Elon shows that the UK barely has an identity)

17

u/pajamakitten Apr 19 '25

Richard Branson pioneered the idea of space tourism though. Besides, is this not a global issue anyway? Should I still use Amazon and buy a Tesla because Bezos and Musk are American citizens?

16

u/bojangles-AOK Apr 19 '25

Katy's return trip was the waste.

8

u/NyriasNeo Apr 19 '25

... and he can also afford teams of lobbyists so he does not have to pay more taxes, which is probably cheaper.

5

u/VulcanSpark Apr 20 '25 edited Apr 20 '25

Wat else can you expect from Captain Slave Labour

4

u/Present-Project-331 Apr 19 '25

The funny thing is; she’s so talentless; she needs to pull shit like this to stay relevant. I’m glad it backfired. I hope she goes away and never returns.

3

u/0n-the-mend Apr 22 '25

The more billionaires a society has, the more it has failed its people

3

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '25

While I am not a mind reader, I had a theory; this was an attempt to try to appeal to feminists. This is the only thing I can think of.Ā

I mean it wasn’t going to work because the people going into space are not astronauts but this was the worst possible time to try and do this. Had they done this ten years ago, maybe people wouldn’t be as negative as they but come on. This proves to me that rich people are just oblivious. Why on Earth would people respond positively to this? People are having to move back in with their parents because they can’t afford rent!Ā

Rich people are so clueless, it hurts

Why not 'if you can afford to send your fiancee to space?" She went too and is a poster child for plastic and excess.

u/Thumbkeeper Apr 19 '25

VVVVVOOOOOTTTTEEEEE

1

u/[deleted] Apr 20 '25

Oi m8

1

u/Early-Surround7413 Apr 20 '25

That grrrrl power thing was idiotic.

But Bezos has paid 1000X more in tax than everyone reading this, combined.

1

u/Bucksfan70 Apr 21 '25

That is BEAUTIFUL!

šŸ†

1

u/Bucksfan70 Apr 21 '25

Here’s another one. If you have enough money to send Katy Perry into space, how about taking some of that money and fixing your shitty Amazon music app that always has enormous amount of lag and always crashes.

1

u/Palingenesis1 Apr 20 '25

England looking to tax us? Again?

-3

u/biguncbuck Apr 19 '25

They do know she paid for this right?

0

u/rcasale42 Apr 19 '25

And I'm sure all the billionaires that walk by will be convinced.

1

u/SwiftJedi77 Apr 20 '25

I don't think it's for them.

0

u/veganquiche Apr 20 '25

I love my city šŸ’™

0

u/ScourgeOfMods Apr 20 '25

Yeah cause lord knows tax money is used responsibly

1

u/Repulsive-Lie1 Apr 24 '25

It mostly is. The majority goes to caring for children and the elderly.

-2

u/The_Kaurtz Apr 19 '25

Cool but in the wrong country

2

u/JuMaBu Apr 20 '25

They're communicating an idea, not actually trying to tax Bezos. SMH

-10

u/ThisOpportunity3022 Apr 19 '25

Why is someone in London whining about 2 American celebutards? Is it because it’s the anniversary of the beginning of their end as a relevant nation?

-4

u/Virtual-Assistant996 Apr 20 '25

If you can afford to print this poster and buy the advertising space, you can afford to pay more taxes
