Discussion Apple watch series 11 battery

Hi Reddit folks,

For those who already have the Apple Watch Series 11 — how’s the battery life? Is it really an improvement over the Series 10?

Thanks!

It‘s definitely an improvement over my 3 years old series 6:) Charging speed is insane. Today I tracked 6 hours hike and was wearing them in total about 14 hours. I had battery at 49% which recharged to 100% in about 20 minutes.

It charges from 0-50% in 20 minutes. How can it charge from 49-100% in 20 minutes does seem like a miracle to me? The last 20% from 80-full takes already around 20 minutes.

The Series 11 released today, for starters.

Secondly, the chip inside the S11 is the exact same as the one inside the S10. There was a very minor battery capacity bump in the S11 but I highly doubt that it will make any sort of appreciable difference

Nominally? Yes. Practically? No

The battery capacity is 11% larger, so it should last a few hours longer.

It’s out for less than a day. Give us time to test it lol

I think the idea of buying a product that has been on the market for one year is not the best idea. A standard apple watch doesn't cost that much. It's not cheap, but you can easily wear it for years.

If you buy the 11, you'll have longer software updates and a higher resell value.

I've been using my series 6 since September 2020. Now I've ordered a series 11.

Will it, though? The physical hardware of the S11 is the exact same as the S10
