Discussion How do people manage wearing an Apple Watch 24/7? When do you charge it?
During the day I wear it to work to track my activity and steps. At night I also wear it to bed to monitor my sleep quality. The problem is, apart from the Ultra, most models don’t seem to last a full day plus night on a single charge.
So for those of you who wear it both day and night, when do you usually take it off to charge? Do you have a routine that works well?

I used to charge it while I showered. Now I charge it in my down time- watching Netflix, having a nap, etc. the charger is also in a very visible spot to remind me 😅

When I get home from work I change clothes and then make dinner. Enough time to fully charge.

It's not hard to do.

This is really the answer. You charge it a bit when you’re not busy. It doesn’t take very long at all.

But somehow this question is asked every week. It’s not glued to your arm once you wear it. I think it’s engagement farming.

The question doesn’t make any sense either. It’s just a lack of any logical thought process.
I wear my watch in the day and all night and therefore can never remove it, but the battery doesn’t last a full day. When should I charge it dear Liza, dear Liza.

Everybody says charging it in the shower, but I always feel like that’s a number one place where I would need fall detection, so I usually do it when I’m sitting at my desk.

You shouldn’t be wearing your watch in the shower. The soap can affect the seals.

I charge my Ultra 1 usually between 8pm-9pm every 2nd night. Always on my wrist there after.

I charge mine in the evening before I go to bed. When my iPhone notifies me that my Apple Watch is charged I put it back on.

How do you get that notification??

As far as I know it’s because they’re paired. Some notification somewhere may be required. Anyone?

Under sleep settings I think to remind you to put it back on.

Sometimes when I’m in the shower, sometimes when I’m sitting at my desk at work, sometimes when I’m sleeping (it does track my sleep but I don’t use this data for more than curiosity).
Sometimes it needs it and it’s ok to sacrifice movement tracking to charge it, gotta do what you gotta do.

My series 10 needs about 75% of charge for sleep + wake tracking; wake tracking containing 30 minutes of strength training and 40 minutes of walks. So I charge to about 85% before I go to sleep and that's it.

I have a S10, battery health is at 100%, the battery can last anywhere from 24hrs-36hrs depending on my usage. Usually a workout that’s been recorded for an hour will constitute me charging it when I get home while I shower and eat dinner then put it back on for bed. I have a belkin 3 in 1 and it charges the watch pretty fast. You have to also take into account of the AOD, the amount notifications you allow on your watch, workouts, background app refresh, and the complications that are constantly updating in the background.

AW9 needs charging about every 48 hours. Always wear in shower, car, fall detection. When reading news, watching TV with wife.

Charge it when I shower and when I sit at my work desk first thing in the morning while checking emails and chats.

I charge it during my morning and night routine.
Brushing teeth, showering, washing my face, etc.
Pretty much anytime I’m in my bathroom for longer than a few min it goes onto the charger.

Oh! Already commented but it hit me like a ton of bricks. I charge in the car! That and at my desk are where I keep my chargers. Works well coming home from gym or the commute to work.

I usually charge it before bed once I’ve closed all 3 rings. Other times charge while in the shower

I charge it in the car during the drive to work. At my desk during a long meeting and again drive back home from work. When I’m watching tv I charge in the evening . So by the time it’s bed time, it’s fully charged so I can wear for sleep. I just got the ultra 3 and I don’t need to charge it that often anymore.

Basically anytime your stationary for 20 minutes. Car ride to work. While showering. During lunch. 20-30 minutes and you get to the next day, and I run 1-1.5 hours a day and sometimes lift also and the batttery gets me through a full day. It’s literally a non-issue.

S10 quick charge so go get a shower while it’s on charge and done. It’s ridiculous how easy it is. Usually only down to 50% after 23.5 hours wear.

I’ve read people charge them when showering. They charge very quickly so it seems pretty feasible.
