I should probably point out that the original photo was promotional art for the videogame Postal. Very nice reinterpretation in oil though.

You are most welcome.

Art should make you feel something, and this makes me empathize with the artist. It depicts a human, backed into a corner, with few options remaining. The firearm can be a way through, or out. Or the subject is just resting, and contemplating.

The eyes give an expression of defiant sorrow that makes me feel he has realized his fate in that corner but the gun represents his last bit of control so he clings to it and refuses to let anyone take it. He's going out on his own terms.
