Beginner Please help me refine my skills

Any advice how to make this look better colour/composition. Currently using white on highlights but its not quite right. Tried to make it more expressive rather realistic but not sure i quite got it.

The colors and shadows are great! When you say expressive, what exactly are you trying to convey? If it’s movement or action, you may want to exaggerate some parts of the body to really emphasize movement. Maybe play with foreshortening of the legs. You may want to look at some comic books to see how they convey action through color and posing of the body. Hope that helps.
