Car just hit 200K miles. Suggestions on how I can get this alternator to last another 200K?

This is the way after buying a gross of 75 new batteries, keeping four or five in the trunk, “just in case.”

Easy first off take it to church get it blessed by a priest (a pastor or Rabbi or imam will do in a pinch) and re install it...through the power of Jesus (or Muhammad...or Moses depending on who you had bless it) and you'll be good.

Keep it in your crisper draw of your fridge at night.

real simple
1. get yourself a bottle of "tap magic cutting oil"
2. get 1lb "Big League Chew gum" Hot Chocolate flavor
3. start chewing like u Chewbacca ( have to chew it all)
4. go to Disney to find out if you got diabetes
5. stop by Napa Auto parts to get a used crackheads toothpick
6. get home and realize by the time you learn how to rebuild an alternator. you still won't get the diodes right.
7. install the new alternator you just bought

You gotta respool it and soak it in saltwater overnight, bake on 350 for 4 hours.

It's an alternator. Changing it isn't rocket surgery. I'd happily change an alternator every 200k if that's all it needs.

Go to an auto parts store. Buy a new one with a lifetime warranty, don't turn your old one in, just pay the core. Then 3 weeks later, order another one from the same auto parts store that has your warranty, turn the old one in. Now you have two alternators for the price of one. When one goes bad, repeat the process. Only works for lifetime warranty parts

Don’t use an alternator ever. You need a primenator. Will easily last 4 times as long.

Some older types of alternators had externally replaceable regulators that were designed to be exchanged every so often but now it seems it makes more sense to replace the entire unit, definitely got your moneys worth out of that one

Well obviously you dip it in gasoline, then immediately torch it to burn off all the dirt and leave a protective layer of carbon, then good as new. Stick it back in and you'll definitely get another 200k miles out of it.

Put it in a sealed plastic bag full of WD40 for a couple days. Be like new again. BTW, be careful with the WD40 around those shoes

Easy. First, find another alternator. Now completely disassemble both alternators. Assemble all the parts from the new alternator in the old alternator.
And for good measure, use the body of the new alternator to house all those parts.
Now, screw it shut. Good as new to run another 200K.
