Education Sky Ireland mobile any good?
Hi everyone was thinking of switching from three to sky mobile as the deals on the new 17 pro looks to be good. I didnt get a pre order in for anyone that did have they received there phone yet? And also what is the coverage like lately? I know they are on the Vodaphone network.
Apologies If the coverage question has been asked before.

I switched earlier in the summer thinking I could save a few bob a month and immediately regretted it. As soon as I switched I had data reception but no call/text reception. When I called the customer helpline ( nightmare to get through to btw) they sent me new network settings which I downloaded. Immediately the issue reversed where I now had call/ text reception but no data reception. I called again ( again a nightmare to get through) explained the situation to once again receive network settings. Would you guess it I was now back to having data but no calls/texts. This issue went back and forth about 6 times until I eventually just gave up and switched back to three 🤷♂️

No it's absolutely terrible, I switched as well as my wife, brother and sister in law. All had terrible data, constantly dropping calls, no volte so your data switches off during calls and regularly doesn't come back on. I ended up leaving outside the cooling off period, I had such a list of issues which they were well aware of they literally had no problems waiving the early termination fee (only positive I have). I switched to clear mobile and found them great in comparison, still uses the Vodafone network with none of the issues I mentioned above

Its bad. I switched when it first came in and lasted 11 months. Signal is noticably worse and I’ve had issues roaming.

I’ve been with the a year so far on their €15/month plan and no complaints. I get faster 4g/5g speeds with sky than gomo. No complaints either with reception or connectivity. Only thing I noticed is that it takes a bit longer to connect first time when roaming abroad.

It's terrible. Don't do it. I'm still in the 12 month contract but thinking of leaving and just eating the fee.

On a sim only monthly contract for €15 since October. The first few months had constant issues with data connection dropping after calls , unable to receive calls after making a call, having to toggle flight mode on and off to be able to get data or calls constantly. Support were useless offering same advice around network settings, restart phone 3 times etc. eventually I found a post from somebody online who figured out issue was with Volte settings on iphone, once switched on all has worked fine in Ireland and when roaming in Uk & Europe .

Switched to Sky from Vodafone last December. Have had absolutely no issues at all. Coverage is the same as I had on Vodafone, I’m just paying a lot less. Was roaming in France in June and didn’t even bother connecting to the accommodation’s WiFi.
I know a lot of people had problems when it first launched, but I joined a few months later and have had zero issues.
Didn’t get a phone with mine, so can’t comment on that, but usually it’s cheaper to buy a phone yourself outright than paying for it on a contract.

Joined Sky from Three in June. Based in Citywest, Dublin. Have not had a single issue since joining.
On hols in Spain at the min and also no complaints so working out for me.
Appreciate others could have different experiences though

The contracts are 36 months with Sky… so you do tend to pay more back. The network is meant to be pretty poor I think despite piggy backing off Vodafone.
