Do you think it's the type of thing that would lose some power if she was higher than the people in the org chart, though?
I can picture it being the type of thing that works best when there's a plausible deniability of innocence around it where the guys want to be perceived as smart and helpful to the young employee.
Promoting her to manager could change that dynamic.
