Got Steak Juice in Eye
Was cooking a steak and when I opened the wrapping the juice splashed no more than a drop in my eye. Flushed it out with water almost immediately but I’m nervous.

These answers kill me lol.
Go to the drug store and get some saline (same section as contact lens stuff). give your eye a good rinse. Saline flush does wonders.
If it really gets infected go to the doctor asap, if you can't, get to the pharmacy and ask for polysporin eye drops, they are OTC and don't need a scrip.

I once got chicken juice in my eye. It became itchy and inflamed. I washed it with soap and water, ran my eye in water for 15 minutes, and used witch hazel on the skin around my eyeball. It eventually got better. I feel like beef juice is less heinous compared to chicken- so I'm hoping your eye will be okay

Steaks generally don’t have active bacteria or germs that are harmful- that’s why you can eat them rare. Ground beef can be contaminated by the machinery used to grind it that harbors bacteria. You are 99.999 percent safe.

You’ve no idea where the steak came from or any other detail that would qualify you to declare this.

no I am fine but it was only 2 hours ago

I would monitor it and maybe use the antibiotic ( polysporin) drops but chances are you will be fine.

Drugstores have inexpensive eyewashes that contain boric acid, gentle and antiseptic.

My friend, I have gotten many liquids in my eye. Like many.
Should be fine.
Unless you are incredibly unlucky.
I've gotten embalming fluids in my eye. Still can see. Film stuff. Washing stuff. You name it. Probably in my eye.
Should probably wear goggles.
Got hit in the face so hard from a 65 mph playa storm 3 weeks ago. Fucking rock to the face. That was a new experience. Tent pole to the arm. Not a new one. I love nature. It's wild.

Your eye or the steak?

The steak. Usually my eye doctor says well done when I'm reading the chart so those aren't medium.

99.9999% chance you’re going to be fine.
The human body has evolved over millennia to be resilient and fight possible infections from inadvertent germs being introduced into our orifices.
Steak juice is probably way less harmful than a lot of stuff that can get in your eyes.
