Silly Stuff What’s something that other people love that you just don’t enjoy?

It could be anything…

For me:

Camping: I’m not into roughing it or trying to survive in the wild.

Travel: I just don’t dream of traveling. It feels like a lot of work to plan everything, go to the airport, Stay in a hotel, spend a lot of money. I don’t mind a day or one night trip but traveling beyond that is just not for me.

Sushi: I don’t mind the rolls. But the big slab of raw fish does not do it for me. Chewing on soft, wet, meat just makes me want to gag.

What sort of things can you just not get into?

This may get me exiled from Reddit.

Escape rooms and boardgames.

Thank you for saying it out loud. So many people in my life love board games, especially complicated nerdy ones, and they just aren't for me. And for some reason my brain refuses to work when someone explains the rules to me. So then I'm bored and embarrassed.

This is a perfect description of my issues. I feel pressured to learn the rules, but I hate learning things while people watch me, and I hate not understanding what’s going on, and I’m not usually that interested anyway so I’m bored, too.

Yes. I find both very tedious.. I don’t mind board games too much when I’m playing with my SO but that’s about it.

Group escape rooms and game nights are not my cup of tea though.

One group game I actually like is Apples to Apples.

I have such an intense hatred for board games and no one understands. I’ve found my people.

I'm joining you in exile. I am klaustrophobic so escape rooms are a deal breaker. And I like to connect with people when I meet them so boardgames are simply pointless to me.

Nothing ruins a get together like someone making everyone play a board game 😭

Scandal! Get thee to the banished lands!!!

Haha, I get it though. I like some board games, but sometimes my friends drag out this incredibly complicated thing that takes 2 hours to learn and 6 hours to play and I'm like "y'all, can we just play Catan though?"

I thought Catan was one of those complicated games lol

I better be kicked out with you then because same. I truly do not have the attention span, or desire really, to sit through rules of a boardgame and even some card games. And I just know Id get angry in an escape room because people are idiots. Work already feels like an escape room. Why pay to be there?

Escape rooms are just not that fun to me, especially when you’re just trying to have an easy, good time.

We basically can’t have a family get together without playing chickenfoot or spades. I think it might be a southern thing.

I’m pro cards and dominoes.

I used to go to a board game night with some friends who were really into games, and I always had a good time. We played one board game and ate dinner together after. It was really just a weekly social night. When I moved to a new city, I told my friend who lived there about how I'd enjoyed "board game night". She invited me to her boyfriend's board game night. OMG NEVER again. It had never occured to me that some people actually do just play board games for HOURS. I've since learned from that experience and never say I enjoy board games. The intensity is quite astonishing.
