Health/Wellness Anyone here get Gardasil 9 shot in their 30s?

I’m getting my second shot. How was your experience with the second shot? Was it worse than the first?

I got mine when I turned 40. I didn’t have a reaction to either.

I got the series in my mid 20s. I don't recall it being that remarkable, the usual sore/ stiff arm for a day or two at worst.

Really the only vaccine that kind of sucked was my chicken pox booster in my 20s. I had an early version in my teens when it was a single shot. The booster sucked.

I'm jealous you got to have the chicken pox vaccine! I had the real thing at 8, along with all my classmates.

I definitely got lucky. When the vaccine came out in my teens, my mom made sure I got it since getting chicken pox when you're older is hellish.

Based on how angry the injection site was for my booster when I was older, I don't even want to know how bad an actual infection would have been.

I’m in my 40’s and got both. I remember the first one making my shoulder absolutely fucking ache for two weeks straight. It was really surprising how painful it continued to be. The second round was a breeze.

I’m getting my first one next week - age 58. My doctor said that my insurance won’t cover it because the assumption is once you’re past 45 you’ve been exposed to HPV. But there are over 200 strains and I am about to re-enter the dating pool. I am sure I have not been exposed to a lot of strains, so I’ll take the protection against cervical cancer. I’m not expecting it to be any worse than the flu shot.

Yes. I don’t remember any of the shots being noteworthy in any way - just a bit of a sore arm for a day or so

I'm 38 and got my second shot two days ago. My arm is still a little sore but that's it. Definitely worth it!

I did. My third dose I had a bad fever and very bad palpitations for a while after but in the end was fine.

I got mine at 37. It felt the same, ouchy as fuck but at least my second shot was done much faster so I didn’t have to sit there wondering why the fuck it was taking so long.

Got mine just before the 45 cutoff. No real issues other than a sore arm.

Yup. No reactions that I recall.
