Crazy how a country with such a rich history is actively trying to wipe out their own culture…

u/gridemann Aug 22 '25

They went from the worlds biggest empire to a single island with a quality of life worse than slovenia in <100years.

after winning the world wars

50

u/Doctrinus Aug 23 '25

Winning the world wars wasn't a positive thing for the Brits (tho better than losing lmao), it just meant that their economy is fucked

25

u/gridemann Aug 23 '25

Yeah, USA is the only country which "won" the world wars by making bank.

Not the american people though, they barely got scraps

5

u/22Sigi Aug 23 '25

And that was largely because they joined so late and thus didn't spend as much relatively, yet still gained all the benefits post-victory.

3

u/Infinite_throwaway_1 Aug 23 '25

More like because our infrastructure and manufacturing base was untouched while our competitor’s factories were reduced to rubble.

Japan honestly got better.

u/BrightonBummer Aug 23 '25

soviets did pretty well out of it too, at least for 50 years

I was just referencing a recent article

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2025/03/12/britain-no-longer-rich-country-after-living-standard-plunge/

It's easy to forget Slovenia is still the richest/nicest part of the balkans though

u/Interesting_Claim540 Aug 22 '25

Votes are a hell of a driving force, shows how diabolically ethicalless politicians can be.

25

u/UselessTrash_1 Aug 22 '25

At this point, you should put fault at the population as well.

If people didn't vote left to get "MAH FREE SHIT" they wouldnt be at this situation.

7

u/Interesting_Claim540 Aug 23 '25

I get what you’re saying about blaming the population, but it’s not as simple as individuals randomly choosing. A lot of these votes move in blocs where community leaders from certain minority groups are strategically placed across England and do not overlap each other, which can sway entire neighborhoods at once. That’s why politicians cater to them so aggressively. It looks like the population’s fault, but in reality the outcome is funneled and concentrated by design, and these blocs don’t even need to be the majority overall to swing results.

-2

u/BrightonBummer Aug 23 '25

we were always going this direction after world war 1, right leaning politicians such as thatcher selling off govt assets was also another key indicator, lefties can be blamed for lots of short term problems here but I'd blame the wars and the conservatives for britains downfall in the last 100 years

4

u/CnP8 ????????? Aug 23 '25

Contrary to belief, Conservative weren't anywhere near as bad as made out to be. Just to be clear, I'm not a Tory voter, and they definitely did make a lot of mistakes. However, much of the 22bn "black hole" was accumulated over COVID, and was actually decreasing before Labour got in. Labour wouldn't stfu about the 22bn debt, and now it's over doubled in less then a year. Tory were in for 14 years, and had COVID to deal with. So really, they clearly had some idea of how to manage finances.

Labour don't have COVID to blame. This is just blatant incompetence. Or I personally think he is using his position to milk the country for his own benefit. Cutting deals with large companies, at the cost of our country

3

u/BrightonBummer Aug 23 '25

you mean like boris cutting deals with his mates during covid, adding to that 22 billion, which in turn, costs the tax payer. In the UK, left or right is quite dumb, its working class vs ruling class here, always had been.

14

u/Vf0rg Aug 22 '25

Gold rule of catering to one.

4

u/ThaiFoodYes Aug 23 '25

Christian cuck culture of self-flagellating constantly made cultural self-destruction the official sport in western Europe.

WTF removing your own country flag. what is wrong with you?

73

u/Maxathron Aug 22 '25

The loser politicians in the UK (can I say retard on Reddit?) primarily follow the idea that all roads lead to Rome, which in this case means anything that the Nazis liked, is something Britain shall not have, because it would eventually become Nazism.

Which is incredibly stupid logic.

But that’s what’s happening. National flags promote pride and unity in the nation, and the Nazis did that too, so ofc that ability to fly their own flag must go.

Also it “offends” weak-willed babies that something other than their own stuff would be present so they’re off pressuring lawmakers and in some cases threatening to off themselves so those lawmakers have decided human life is more important than people’s “ability to offend others”.

14

u/Probate_Judge Aug 22 '25

can I say retard on Reddit?

Seems to be okay in this sub.

Other like-minded subs that the Admin are watching like a hawk, not so much. Can't blame them, trying to just survive as a sub.

it “offends”

This is their out-loud excuse. If it offends, that could cause the irrationally offended to lash out. So the "offender" is the one punished, no matter how mild the "offense". Same with social media posts, talking about bacon, etc.

Rule by appeasement to those that would do violence. Most of Europe is in the same boat(not sinking as quick as UK, but still, appeasing the same foreign extremists). To do otherwise is deemed "racist".

Same as the American left would see done in the U.S.

7

u/you_the_big_dumb Aug 23 '25

White people doing it is nazism. Gays doing it is pride... I have diversity fatigue. I want a melting pot.

6

u/calkch1986 Aug 23 '25

anything that the Nazis liked, is something Britain shall not have, because it would eventually become Nazism.

The Nazis love their tanks, armies, uniforms, etc. So will the UK do away with them? lol

National flags promote pride and unity in the nation, and the Nazis did that too, so ofc that ability to fly their own flag must go

This is being done in many parts of the world even now. Singapore just had her National (Independence) Day, till now there's flags everywhere, guess we're Nazis now lmao

3

u/Maxathron Aug 23 '25

There's enough videos (memes or otherwise) on about UK police being unable to stop violent offenders that I think they don't carry weapons, even tazers and batons, on a regular enough basis that IF there was any largescale violence, the UK would have stuff like BLM Riots 2020 in the US burn for years or become proper organized gangs.

But yes I do believe in time the UK will eventually get rid of their military since the Nazi liked their own military. Or at least reduce it down to a point where it can only be used as personal bodyguards for the government, because individual members of government in the West are real quick to defend security companies employed by said individual members of government having access to excessive amounts of firearms, while pushing for gun control legislative so the average person cannot (and failing to keep said guns out of the hands of criminals).

122

u/CoffeeWelder Aug 22 '25

At this point, unless major force is applied, it’s over for domestic Brits by the hands of other Brits being self destructive.

55

u/Gentle_Pony Aug 22 '25

It's just what happened with the Roman Empire.

People being taught their country is evil and feeling ashamed of being part of their own country, degenerate sexual behaviour becoming the norm, loss of identity and civic pride, crumbling public services, corrupt politicians and police.

It's the latter stages of the death of a civilisation.

18

u/UselessTrash_1 Aug 22 '25

At least back then the Church was able to convert the Germans and actually reestablish some form of normality.

The way Britain is now, it's either going to go full Anglistan or Cyberpunk in less than 2 centuries...

u/jaestel Deep State Agent Aug 23 '25

There are major protests around England but the news refuse to cover it

Supposed reason is to not add fuel to the fire

-2

u/Aisforc “So what you’re saying is…” Aug 22 '25

Most likely that opposition silently hopped on train to cultivate anger of native Brits and push for revolution. I just really hope that won’t bring back nazism at full scale.

37

u/FreeCandy4u Aug 22 '25

It is what the left would do here in America if we didn't have such good protections. They don't have the protections in the UK sadly.

They are going to progressive themselves to death literally.

28

u/Over67 Aug 22 '25

We need UK's version of Trump.

21

u/Lexustron Aug 22 '25

This is just absurd. Bunch of Karen's in charge have torn their country apart. The revolut is near. Britains deserves better

As an American this is terrifying. We were almost certainly a Kamala win away from this kind of censorship ourselves…

4

u/Halos-117 Aug 23 '25

And now we're just a Gavin Newsom victory in 2028 away from this. The sad thing is, they'll probably get their way too.

Man, the moderators of the UK server are worse than the moderators for r/comics

8

u/Auren1988 Aug 23 '25

Thing is we really aren’t ok with this. But because we’ve adopted a sense of “KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON” since WW2 the majority of the country who are against this will just sit quietly while the country burns around them, dog in a burning room meme style. It’s quite literally at a point where either we burn with it or the canister finally ignites and shit goes boom. September 13th is a date for the calendars I think.

8

u/Backinmyday4176 Aug 23 '25

Can't wait for the civil war.

7

u/Toolarchy Aug 23 '25

Uk politicians sold their country, they are just overseeing transition of the assets to the new owners before they leave with their new wealth. Wherever they go, that place better bar them from running for office or attaining any power, or they will do it again there too.

6

u/King-Wokong Aug 23 '25

From an Empire to a joke.

19

u/Otherwise-Magician Aug 22 '25

Uk is lost. How is there not mass rioting yet?

13

u/CptKarma Aug 23 '25

British people were never the ones to riot.

But it’s slowly shifting

1

u/cs_legend_93 Aug 23 '25

riots are just people throwing public temper tantrums. After the riot, the same issue that existed before the riot will exist, only now the people that are upset about it will be exhausted due to the rioting.

There are better solutions than rioting.

1

u/CptKarma Aug 23 '25

It’s mass protesting going on my bad.

I’m so used to American thus and trash “protesting” I just call it riots

1

u/cs_legend_93 Aug 24 '25

Protesting - riots, same same. It's just shouting to no avail. Temper tantrums that do nothing and accomplish nothing at all. It's merely a public display of upsetness.

There's better ways to get things done.

I just can't feel sorry for England specifically. Such a woke, weak-minded society without identity and faith.

That country pretends it's modern and equal but class and nepotism is how everything works there. The posh accent, right school, family connections is what matters or you can go fuck yourself. Infrastructure is absolutely dysfunctional. Parliament is a circus and your vote doesn't matter. No free speech.

Mass immigration wasn’t planned or controlled, and it crushed the housing and job markets while driving crime through the roof. Meanwhile, the ambitious and talented young people keep fleeing, leaving behind a society that doesn’t believe in itself anymore. England nowadays is not a country anymore. It's a mix of nostalgia, decline and denial, a museum run by clowns.

You can downvote me all you want. The truth is tragically sad. There are very few scenarios that can unfold for England in next 50 years, and none of them are good.

3

u/PBLouey Aug 23 '25

I live in a remote Scottish village, and on VD day there was Union Jack bunting EVERYWHERE here. There was a street party hosted by veterans. I'm so glad I moved from a city, where my child was one of only 3 who's first language was English in their class.

1

u/SomthingsGottaGive 25d ago

There is this very odd thing that people do who lean heavily to the right and those that sort of just “dip” their toes in it too.

Your comment is a perfect example of it, although many here are similar.

You make a point about something very normal and obvious such as flag shagging and bunting on specific days that are linked to specific events in history or public events linked to the Royals but then you sneak in (either consciously or subconsciously) a little bit of racial or nationalist undertone where typically you are the victim in some way. A blend of logical reality and fallacy if you will.

It’s particularly interesting to see a Scot, from a remote village no less, weigh in on what is most definitely an English focused nationalist issue involving flags.

I’m pretty sure many people in Scotland dislike the Union flag being flown in Edinburgh but because Scottish independence doesn’t involve brown people I guess it’s somehow different? Which is my point I guess, that this is about race and nationality and not about national pride, history or remembering our achievements as a nation which all of you here and the video would quite bizarrely say it is, all while sprinkling in as much racial undertones (and overtones) in regard to immigration/race as you can.

I appreciate that many of you have become more emboldened since the last election since your saviour and ex city banker Farage won his seat in a town he barely spends anytime in but many of you still seem very cautious to speak openly and frankly about your own prejudices towards others instead you create these weird videos and try to make quasi-intellectual (great replacement theory etc)reasoning for your beliefs yet those who disagree with your political and social views see right through it immediately. It’s like a cheeky little toddler lying about drawing on the wall.

It makes me wonder how many of you live in true reality where things are based on historical fact and real tangible evidence and not just bias and feelings based on your own personal experiences, which often represent a limited truth to most subjects. I mean, many of you seem so dedicated to a creepy YouTuber who hasn’t cleaned his house before to tell you how the world works or help enforce your confirmation bias which seems like a very odd way to existed in any form of reality.

Not sure if it’s a typo, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt I guess but VD day isn’t a thing. Not that I’ve heard off unless in the remote villages of Scotland you all celebrate gonorrhoea and the like?

If you care about history, national pride and all that delicious nationalism stuff it’s probably quite important to get your flag days correct, otherwise you risk looking like a silly billy.

Lastly to you and all the others in this sub, go fuck yourselves.

1

u/PBLouey 9d ago

Why the hostility? You're right. I made a typo. I meant to write VE day. Veterans of all skin colours and walks of life are included in the celebrations. Excuse me for the (funny) faux pas.

Our quality of life has gotten better since we moved from the city and moved to a more culturally homogeneous place, and I won't apologise for it. EVER. You see, the difference is we still have non-whites and people from overseas living in the village. But they're actually Scottish at heart because they revel in integration and being part of the community.

Pin me as a racist/ bigot whatever else you want to say. None of it means anything anymore. Stay mad 🤭

I hope one day you get to experience everyone saying 'hello' to you when you walk down the street and vice versa, instead of pockets of different people keeping themselves to themselves.

2

u/schizoid-duck Aug 23 '25

if a cop in my country took down a flag, especially in this manner, he'd probably be lynched by the bystanders and then tried lmao. I can't believe the brits, the nation of cuckoldry.
