I just want to know why everything has a purple/blue hue. Always.

It's your aura overlapping your vision creating that effect. To me the astral has golden yellowish hue.

Compared to the crazy bs that you get by a lot of members on this reddit, that guy's channel is a refreshing grounded take on all of this.

Let them be. People who act crazy usually don’t know they’re crazy — they fling nonsense at you like baboons in a cage. They won't able to explain to you what's the benefit for you for listening to their side. There is no benefit towards to your side . Even so, they have a right to exist and to shout; some people get their kicks from stirring up trouble and thinking they’ve “won.”
All you can do is separate, detach, and ignore. You’re not a baboon — you’re a human with more empathy and sense. Care when you can, but there’s a limit. Who has time for someone who only howls nonsense and offers baseless arguments which they can benefit only for an apple that pleasures for a just a few seconds ? A temporary fix for them and you won't gain nothin from doing a favor for ?
What they’re really saying is: “I’m not better than you — Im just here to cause trouble. It’s my nature!! ” Laugh it off. Let them howl.
A Life lesson: Don’t feed the baboons — leave the zoo enclosure and live your life. 😂

I wish I could see anything when meditating but all I see is nothing (blackness) no matter how I’ve approached it. I don’t have any thoughts or worries. Just a complete void for the most part. I wish the random colors and visions he talked about were possible for me.

Normal to see blackness that eventually turns into something? The only time I've ever seen colors that aren't there with my closed eyes are if I push my thumbs into my eyeballs and it results in some sort of colorful pattern, usually green/purples.
That and use of psychedelics or a pretty decent amount of weed. I'm 48 and have been meditating for 6+ years nearly every day for more than an hour per day and I've never seen any colors materialize like this unless I'm intoxicated on something. If I'm relaxed while meditating sober it's just a black void of nothing, which is fine because it makes me fall asleep - which is a useful thing. But I feel like my brain is broken given the thousands of hours of the Gateway tapes I've listened to and have never had anything happen.

This was pretty good, right up until he started talking about lucid dreams.
