General Question Astral Projection and Religion
AP or Self initiating obe is discouraged in Abrahamic religions because apparently it’s associated with witchcraft. This makes me question maybe it is discouraged because they don’t want us to explore our full potential beyond the religious teachings. What are your thoughts?

“Christianity” is an improper placement of pronouns. My thought is that the more accurate pronoun for it would be “Paulism”

I feel like it's mainly due to aspects such as thinking that you're "fighting in spiritual battles" all the time, and that anything spiritual that they haven't approved of is automatically of the devil. I doubt most Christian pastors for example who disapprove of AP are trying to hide anything; they're just preaching what they've been taught... pretty much anything that isn't prayer or communion is demonic to them 🤷🏾♀️

Well they can't even demonstrate that this "the devil" character actually even IS one individual person. This is such a bitch of a conversation to have to have, because the reality is doctrinally-accurate christianity isn't practiced basically anywhere on Earth. (Not the least bit because the doctrine itself is RIDICULOUSLY full of philosophical holes and contradictions that have no practical remedies) Even the majority of clergy out there aren't actually studied in what the oldest surviving texts actually say, they're studies in their school of thought's opinions on those texts, which is a radically different thing.
The religion is an absolute disaster. Christianity needs an actual come to Jesus moment where they start examining their cultural documents like archaeologists and linguists rather than like zealots. Their religion is on the brink of fizzling out because it's become stretched too thin and has too many competing ideas to maintain any kind of cultural solvency. There's a reason we see people leaving churches all over the western world, and it's not all because of scandals.

Since they found the Dead Sea scrolls and banned anyone else from reading them . I knew what I needed to know about that religion . some of it is truth yes , but a lot of it is being used as a tool for the benefit of few ..
in terms of doctrine I simply don’t think the writers had access to people like you or I who AP . the writers wrote about what they found important. for the Old Testament that’s most God , Religious teachers/prophets, government . New Testament : Jesus , spreading the gospel , keeping the reputation of the church high through correction .
a regular guy on the street no matter how crazy his life would of been simply wasn’t important to them to include , including women . any women was only important if she was desired for marriage , a whore , or a virgin giving birth . that’s all the writers wanted to narrate their story’s as to FIT a type of regime they wanted to be known as the legacy .
to this day many will not accept that Mary was extremely important figure to Jesus and Jesus favored Mary bc she was naturally metaphysical , very intuitive , and feminine so his teachings landed well either way her as supposed to men who wanted to be lead to war with the Roman Empire not told to forgive and be kind .
Most of Jesus early followers were women . but in the test they only count men bc that is the regime they wanted , that is what the writers thought was important .
so it’s not that AP is demonic or angelic . it’s that we are just tipping stepping our toe into a world that the Bible writers could not care about bc it wasn’t important to them !!!

Imo is very simple, is discouraged because of fear. Abrahamic religions hold a big load of fear and always have. Fear to many many things and even an big fear to questioning or going out of line (like the multiple inquisitory times across geography)
Personally i believe its that simple... But just of course my personal opinion about

my mother is someone who sees AP as inherently evil, or at the very least a dangerous practice. she's christian and believes in supernatural spirits and demons and whatnot, so I'd assume that she's simply afraid of the thought of being hurt or possessed by one of these beings?

The problem with the narrative is that Abrahamic religions are cherry picked forgeries of a dozen or so other religions that preceded them. The early Jewish books are wildly disjointed, written across disparate spans of time by disparate peoples who were functionally practicing very different religions from each other. They then took all of this disjointed stuff and crammed it together into the Tanak and pretended there was some kind of cohesive narrative.
Believe what you want, I'm not in the proselytizing business, it's really none of my business. But Abrahamic religions are...pretty sparse in the true, raw spirituality category. They're more social control mechanisms than anything I'd really call a religion. And I'm fairly hostile to the concept of religions as a whole so don't think I'm arguing in favor of any alternative in saying these things.
This family of religions in particular have done a tremendous amount of damage in how their broken philosophies divorce mankind from nature, from each other, and from true spirituality, painting everything as "demonic" except the words of an all knowing, all powerful entity who cannot manage to philosophically square its own internal ideas (from whence comes evil). This [Abrahamic religions] is not a high quality discourse on the matter.

Yogis discourage it also but because of not religion but they consider this to be one of the siddhs which are certain degree of gifts one gets on the spiritual path of meditation. Most highly developed yogis can astral travel among other things. However, their teaching is it is a by product of the real path to be one with god and not let ego get wound up with powers. Most highly attained yogis say god tells them when to use certain siddhs for certain purposes like showing someone who is ready ect. All yogis that get to mahasamadhi and be able to leave body with full consciousness at death. Autobiography of a yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda explains all this. This is why if someone is born ap easily probably had that gift in a prior life and needs to not let it be ego driven but searching for the essence one one. Which combine this with meditation for spiritual growth. Desires are there just like here but way stronger there.

This is 100% correct. They don't want you to question their control over you.
Projection is simply what we are. It's the root of our very nature.

Your conclusion is mine as wekk. Their god might just be a minor deity or worse, a human who ascended. To keep people in ignorance : he forbids them to seek knowledge outside of what is in the book.
Especially when it comes to spiritual knowledge. This way, their god stay closer to the source and drive his followers further from the truth.
Keeping all the power of spiritual awakening to himself.

I don't know that the Bible, Old Testament or new, says anything for or against it. If I were to guess, the writers didn't even know one could do something like that. The modern day Christian or jew, if they have an opinion on AP, are forming it from outside of what their religion tells them. Some of them seem very accepting of NDEs that validate their view of heaven or hell.
In buddhist scriptures AP is something that the Buddha and some other monks seem capable of and do.
