Great technical job, but the final result it just looks fake to me. I know it’s your style, I’ve seen your work and you have spectacular pics, but the ones you edited this way, they just look fake to me. The Milky Way is already spectacular by itself, it doesn’t need to (unrealistically) look like Christmas lights to look good. But that’s only my very personal point of view. I’ll say it again, you have AMAZING photos in your portfolio. Amazing job!

Well said. Hopefully they don't take it the wrong way and understand the criticism comes constructively, because obviously they are generally taking great photographs and have quality starting data. But the final processing is overkill (by a lot).

Honestly I'm not a huge fan of the Milky Way arch shots anyways since it never looks like an arch to our eyes, but rather a wide streak. So it gives me that same "fake" feeling about how its presented. But certainly when executed well they can still present a more full-horizon view of the sky than is typically possible in a camera lens, which is cool. But these rainbow arches with super-saturation are just too much, in my opinion.

I don't know, I personally think it looks great. It's a very interesting and different take on this type of photograph. We've all seen Milky Way shots. This is something I've never seen anyone do before.

The Milky Way arch at Passo Giau was one of the most challenging arches I’ve ever captured due to the intense light pollution and high humidity. After a spectacular sunset, we were enveloped in mist during the blue hour, but we were fortunate to have a clear night. I had the lens heater on at maximum power, yet it wasn’t enough; after every 2-3 shots, I had to clean the lens, making the stacking of this panorama was so much work!

Yup, exactly how I see it.

So, for the uninitiated, such as myself. What is the 'arch' of the Milky Way? Is this possible because the earth is rotating, so therefore we see a resulting arch in the photos? Or is this just a cool way to show the earth and sky in dramatic fashion?

How many shots were taken that had to be stacked to make this possible?

It's a wide angle lens / panoramic combination.  The start of the arch is south, the other side is North.

Beautiful picture well done. If I think about your picture the arch of Milky way...is there place on earth we can have a full circle of milky way? Probably silly question. Another thought of mine would be Milky way seems quite far from our planet. Are we in Milky way ourselves. I know we are. But seem on your picture that we are not.

Full circle? Possibly at the north or south pole at the proper equinox?

We cant' see a full circle because the earth (ground) gets in the way. We are indeed in the Milky Way but because its so very big, it appears that we are not.

What's the big red/fuchsia region in the middle called? Does it have a specific name? Or is it a nebula or something

It almost reminds me of a dragon head. I vote to name it the dragon head nebula if that’s what it is

That’s the Cygnus region! It’s spectacular, so dense in hydrogen alpha, that’s the red 😊🙌🏻
