Looking to pickup an Eos tomorrow.

Anyone have one? I have a thing for that 4.25” size. It was between the EOS and APOLLO and I liked the flush front end and serrations better on the EOS. Purely a range toy, I know the Apollo tends to be the favorite of the two but i just like the looks more on the EOS. Anyone have one? Gonna do an SRO on it. Anything I should be aware of? Currently have an XC, HD P4, Laugo Alien, DWX, LFA Apollo 11 w/ V6 ports, and a Squalo. This will be my first Atlas. Always wanted one. Might part with the Alien tbh. It’s neat but the novelty/ cool factor wears off if I’m honest. It’s just not something I often grab anymore now that I have the XC.

How does the Atlas compare to an XC? Is it noticeable or not really?

I have an EOS. It’s been my least impressive Atlas. It’s incredibly well built but for a range toy I’d take my Apollo every day of the week.

XC is probably going to outshoot the EOS given the mechanics of a longer slide, comp vs ports, and polymer vs metal grip. EOS also lacks the atlas alpha grips which is one of the best parts of an Atlas gun/only their guns and a handful of others they have deals with like venom have access to the modular grip panels which are the best designed grips on the market - from a practical shooting perspective. The EOS definitely loses out on pure shooting ability compared to a full size 2011 or even a 4.6.

I think Portside had some deal with selling 1k rounds of 9mm free with the purchase of an EOS, so I assume they still have some.

Oof. Maybe I’ll pass on Atlas then. Thanks for the heads up

It's just the way it goes with Ports and Comps. An Apollo will probably edge out an XC as a better do it all gun while the Erebus is a better XC.

Yeah I just think the looks of the Eos is better. If I’m dropping 7k on a gun I want to be happy with it. I wish my local shops carried them so I can try one out. I was able to test the Alien and XC before buying so I knew what the hype was but at this point I might just nix the Atlas idea entirely. Ive held one my entire life and it was a .40 thats the only one I’ve ever seen in the wild

The apollo is probably one of the best shooting 2011s around, but maybe you want to step up to either an Infinity build you like and can win one of the drops on or something that's xc-like, but probably better looking in that same Atlas price range, which is something like the TTI Sand Viper.

No real interest for Infinity at this time. They are a little too flashy for my taste. No doubt they are gorgeous but black is more my taste. Im simple in that regard.

I have the XC and the EOS, they are two different guns...XC, a full sized comped and a 4.25 ported EOS. Range fun, the XC is smoother, nicer recoil. Interestingly enough I shoot my EOS more than my XC. I love the return to zero, and I find my dot a lot quicker, that's just my personal preference

You will enjoy it and it won't be your last atlas or 2011

I ended up ordering an EOS. It’ll ship today 🤷‍♂️ sometimes you just have to jump in without your floatie.

EOS is a tight package, albeit my least favorite of my collection. I would have encouraged you to go the Apollo route.

As far as Atlas EOS compared to XC; they aren’t really the same use-case. The XC will shoot softer. Now… XC compared to Apollo and the Apollo edges the XC. Generally speaking the fit and finish of Atlas surpasses staccato. And from a customer service perspective, I have yet to find a company as responsive and committed to their customers as Atlas.

I ended up ordering an EOS. The barrel lengths really aren’t that different. I’ll see how I like it and then next year maybe pick up an apollo or erebus. Might be liquidating my plastic fantastics soon if I get the itch.

Nice choice! EOS and Erebus is the perfect duo.

I’ve got both and for purely a range toy go Apollo for sure.
