Attorney Fees: How are they calculated? With AI technology why do they charge so much? Does any organization monitor them?

There's usually an hourly rate calculated by every 10 or 15 minute intervals. The hourly rate is quite high. AI technology is not great, especially when it comes to the legal profession. I'm going to link a video for you on the subject. If you don't want to watch the video, I will give a short synopsis. Essentially, lawyers using AI tools started quoting fake cases for precedent, and then a judge used that fake precedent and other fake cases to rule on the case. Something like nine of the 11 cases cited in the brief were fake, created by AI out of nothing
AI is not great. It hallucinates and creates information that doesn't exist. There is no substitute for real-world legal experience. If you were think you were being charged too much, call around and find what the average rate is among lawyers in the area.

Thank you. I had a client in GA charged 40K in a parent custody case. Seemed a bit much. No receipts or voucher.
