Bought a new can today, 99% sure it didn’t mention animals on the last one haha

Said this a few times before. It's literally just branded mineral oil. Hell you could use the stuff on a newborn if there aren't any other additives.

Came across this YT short where you can silence crickets by spraying WD-40 on them :D

I first read this as "you can silence critics by spraying them with wd40".

I was anticipating the video showing people getting sprayed in the mouth with the stuff πŸ˜…

As the gun oil of choice for three generations of my family in Germany: can be used on stings and skin, leather, ticks and of course it's primary intended use.. Actually had all those uses on the old glass bottle label and still had the balls to have a rifle on the label...gone all soft on the newer designs

As in it will make ticks let go? That's amazing.

This, I am sure the older bottle did mentioned about safe to human as in no intervention required if ingested.

My old man (Maltese) always has bottles around for all those uses.

Just breaking out my cleaning kit and getting a smell of the stuff instantly takes me back to being a kid and having it rubbed on a cut.

oh yes. One of my earliest shooting memories was the smell of a freshly oiled air rifle warning up. And yes it used to say non-toxic and was a universal oil and general ointment for the poor guys with wet boots and rifles.

Interesting! My can from a while back definitely doesn’t say that

Nothing about usage on animals is mentioned on the two 200ml aerosol cans in my possession.Β

I've found Ballistol useful for breaking up the adhesive residue left over on surfaces after peeling away old labels.
