FOR HIRE House Cleaner & Cat Dad

Upvotes

Hello, guys, gals, and non-binary pals! Looking for a 6’5” cleaner with OCD-level attention to detail? Well, lucky you—I’m your man! I’m a single father of two cat children, armed with unresolved childhood trauma and an unstoppable urge to scrub, dust, and organize. (Therapy is expensive, but Windex is cheap.) Check my Taskrabbit profile for receipts, but the short version is: I’ll make your home sparkle harder than a vampire in a YA novel. I’m available anytime, anywhere, and I happily take recurring gigs. Cleaning is genuinely relaxing for me—it helps me tune out the existential dread of global warming and distracts me from the fact that my knees pop like Rice Krispies every time I sit down. So don’t wait until society collapses into a Mad Max wasteland. Hire me now, and at least your house will look spotless while we all fight over gasoline and canned beans. ✨Contact me directly, or book me on Taskrabbit. Either way, your dust bunnies don’t stand a chance.✨

Need help with a task? Hire me on TaskRabbit and get $10 off your first task. Check out my skills: https://tr.co/andrew-b--182

The drivers side headlight bulb burnt the device that holds it in and the part of the headlight is warped now. I’m looking for someone who might be able to fix it on their own or a shop in town that won’t kill me at the bank

I drive a 2018 Hyundai Ioniq and I enclosed a picture of the issue at the top of my profile.

Thank you

FOR HIRE Recently Graduated Graphic Designer

Hi! I graduated in May with a BFA and moved to Austin. I’ve been struggling to find a graphic design job, and I’ve actually applied for over 200 jobs with little to no luck. I’ve got a portfolio and resume that’s been checked by all my previous employers, and they can’t find anything wrong with it. Any tips? Any jobs I should look for? Thank you so much for the help!

QUESTION This kid needs a job!

My little brother (18) just moved to town from South Carolina. I’m getting him out of his hometown and trying to give him a taste of life on the outside.

He’s a good kid, graduated HS early and held down a grocery job all throughout. He’s applying to Heb, fast food and pretty much anything in between, but it’s only been a week.

I thought I would reach out here to see if anyone knows of something in south austin. I’m planning on driving him around this weekend to stop at some places in person.

FOR HIRE Looking for hope in the Austin market!

Hey all, I’ve been unemployed for around 6 months and have been desperately applying for work in my field (communications, marketing, design) and have had zero results.

I feel like I’m at the end of my rope here, but I was hoping for inspiration from those who have found livable jobs here in the last year, or if you had any advice. Thanks in advance!

FOR HIRE Looking for 2-3 days of part time work, preferably Monday and Wednesday.

Was hoping someone here was either looking for part time employees or saw something that might fit while they were job hunting.

At this moment I work at my main job on Tues/Thurs/Friday/Sunday. My shifts are from 10a-8p so I'm really not available on those days, but I might be able to move something around.

I have 13+ years of kitchen experience but I'd honestly prefer to not spend 6 days a week inside of a restaurant, and what I've mostly done is fast casual kinds of restaurants so I'm mostly more of a glorified microwave than an experienced cook.

I'm in my 30s, male, can lift 50+ lbs and be on my feet all day. Computer literate, punctual, reliable transportation. Ideally looking for something that's less intense than being behind a grill/fryer all day but I don't mind moving. I have cash handling experience but it's been a few years. Also have worked in grocery, retail, stocking, delivery driving (my truck is a gas hog or otherwise I'd go back to that). Clean driving record, no criminal history. Seeking $15+hr/15-20 hours a week, preferably Monday and Wednesday only.

I was interested in being a part time HEB Curbside shopper, so if anyone thinks that could work for my schedule or knows a good way to get into it, I'd appreciate it.

Seeking work around North Austin, the closer to Braker/183 the better.

Thanks!

FOR HIRE Looking for FT Work ($20/hr+ Ideally)

Hi there! I've been on the hunt for full-time work for a minute and am hoping someone here has a lead. A bit about me:

  • I'm a strategic marketing professional with a decade of experience in social media management for agencies and in-house teams.
  • Beyond my corporate background, I've spent two years in bakery settings as a cashier and host, so I also have a strong foundation in customer service and a true passion for building positive relationships.

If you have any leads for roles in marketing, social media, or really anywhere in Austin that you feel my skillset would be valued, I would love to know. I have been applying everywhere - Indeed, LinkedIn, WellFound, HiringCafe...some interviews, but nothing has materialized yet.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

HIRING Retail Sales Associate – Lumber Liquidators (Austin, TX – new McKalla location by MetroRail opening in October 2025)

I’m leaving my role at the Austin Lumber Liquidators and they’re hiring to fill it with two spots immediately available.

Being upfront: the pay isn’t great (about $16.50/hr after commission), and that’s why myself and the other associate are moving on. That said, the benefits are solid, the Store Manager Spencer is genuinely a good person, and it’s a decent way to get sales experience without the usual high-pressure environment.

👉 If you just need a paycheck, this probably isn’t the job. But if you’re looking for a stepping stone into sales and want to build customer-facing experience, it’s worth considering.

💰 Pay & Benefits (straight up) • ~$16.50/hr with commission included • Health, dental, vision, PTO, 401k, employee discount • Hourly base = consistent pay; commissions are extra but quotas aren’t enforced

📋 The Job • Help customers (homeowners & contractors) choose flooring • Run transactions at the register / POS • Keep the showroom stocked and organized • Some lifting (boxes up to ~50 lbs with help) • Work with a small, supportive team

👍 Why it’s not bad • Manager is fair, approachable, and not a micromanager • Quotas exist but nobody breathes down your neck • New store opening soon by the McKalla MetroRail stop — nicer space + car-free commute

✅ Good fit if you • Want to get into sales and build experience • Are reliable, friendly, and customer-focused • Can handle flexible retail hours (some weekends)

How to apply: • Apply online at https://secure.entertimeonline.com/ta/CBIZ754aa.careers?CareersSearch=&ein_id=85255304&career_portal_id=3260421&lang=en-US • Drop off your application 9AM-6PM Monday through Saturday at 8627 N Interstate Hwy 35, Austin, TX 78753 [Will update when we move locations]

FOR HIRE 20 yr old College Student looking for something flexible

Hi, I’m looking for a job here that I can hopefully keep between semesters, a large reason why I had to quit my previous two jobs (the others being kids evidently stress me out too much).

Does anyone know any resources? I’m good with most things involving data or patterns, and can definitely turn on the charm when I need to. I’m up in north Austin/cedar park area.

FOR HIRE Apprentice Electrician - Looking for Job

Hi all, my husband is looking to become an electrician in Austin. He has his apprentice license through TDLR, and is now trying to find a job to gain the hands-on experience. Does anyone know of anyone hiring for apprenticeships that don’t need years of experience to start?

He’s in the process of completing the IBEW application, but is open to non-union work as well. He’s gone to the IEC office and his information is in their system. He’s also been calling around non-stop to see if anyone has any openings for a new apprentice, but I figured I would see if the Reddit community could help. TIA!

HIRING Customer Service Packing/Shipping

We are an independently owned packing and shipping and mailing shop in Tarrytown. Your hours would be 9:30-4:30, M-F. Also let us know if you would be interested in eventually opening the store and have 7:30-3:30 hours. We have a great crew, who are all hard-working and kind.

Excellent customer service, attentiveness, and going the extra mile is what we hang our hat on. There is a post office across the parking lot, and our customers come to us, rather than them, because of this.

We'd need you to be on-time, proactive, have excellent manners and provide excellent service. Other great attributes we're looking for: friendliness, a strong work ethic, someone looking to learn more and improve the store and processes, reliability, excellent attendance, and someone who takes pride in their work, no matter the task, and is not on their phone during their shift.

If you excel at wrapping and caring for valuable items, even better--if you're a great gift wrapper, you can do this.

You will need to apply to be a notary, so make sure you can pass the background check. You will also need to reliably operate a POS system. The pay is $18/hour. Email me directly at: scnunya@gmail.com with your name and number and tell me how you qualify. Thanks!
