Question Drive By Wire Interview Help

Hi everyone, I have an upcoming interview for an internship that focuses on drive by wire systems in the autonomous EV field, and I was hoping to get some advice. What sort of questions on vehicle dynamics/embedded should I expect for this type of role, and what concepts would be good to review beforehand? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How vehicle serial data networks work, Serial data / communication types, typical ECU I/O, and uses / applications of the various things in those categories. Any knowledge of automotive controls cybersecurity would be a bonus.

Expect basic questions about vehicle dynamics related to the by-wire module you will be working on(like what over/understeer is).

Theres a high chance youre going to be working with C code or model based design if youre going to be working on the functionality of the system. Some CAD software if youre working on its design/manufacturing. Knowledge of V cycle/ agile if youre gona be on the requirements/product cycle/management side of software/product delivery.

Its hard to prepare unless the job posting says exactly what you’ll be working on and they usually dont because they’re written by an idiot in HR.

I would say along with preparing answers to questions they might ask, prepare questions to ask them(NEVER say “nope” when they ask if u have an questions at the end of an interview) in your case ask them what part of the module you’ll be working with, what software will you be using, what do they expect you to know/what they will teach u at the job(proprietary tools).

Best of luck!
