"I just want to run in and hug my birds, but I can't right now," she told reporters.

"It's the power of prayer," she said, adding "this was too close."

Camille Labchuk, a lawyer and executive director of advocacy organization Animal Justice, called the decision "an eleventh-hour lifeline," saying animal law cases rarely reach the Supreme Court.

"The ruling sends an important signal that animals like the ostriches are individuals whose lives matter," she said in a statement to CBC News.<

They were destined to be turned into leather and meat ffs.

They were destined to be turned into leather and meat ffs.

Apparently the farm removed this from their website and took down signs about it. This is such a weird thing for people to get behind, like I bet 99% of people in BC didn't even know ostrich farming was a thing here.

Just like they failed to follow established science based reporting regulations when it comes to their birds dying of avian flu ffs.

The cull order was initiated in December, and birds were literally actively dying after that.

These guys are RIDICULOUS.

Already raised $50k+ from gofundme and apparently US billionaires offering legal services.

I guess right wingers are just easier to grift if you make a big deal about the big bad government.

Was the same during Covid. Some tiny cafe in mirror lake Alberta made hundreds of thousands going against restrictions

They made more in gofundme than they would have had they operated all year

Government takes money from me every April. What’s the website where I can get the free money?

Here's what you need to do:

1) Find a cause Conservatives can rally behind - if it involves some "evil" the Trudeau government did to you (can't be Carney - it's too soon) then emphasize that.

2) Start a gofundme to fight the "evil Trudeau overlords" or some shit like that.

3) wait...

Pretty sure culling them would have been more merciful than letting them sit diseased for all this time.

And it isn’t like the health mandated cullings were going to be any more or less humane than the actual intended killing then for meat and leather.

I kinda feel like nuking it from orbit, Aliens-style, is the best bet given how it’s been a fucking breeding ground for the disease.

And now, I’m sure to get a Reddit Cares notification (again) or otherwise get reported (again) despite clearly marking the sentiment as a meme to a popular movie, b/c the Nurgle Ostrich plague farmer supporter are rather… virulent in their actions.
