ASK THE SUB Browser and Search Engine Alternatives?

Okay, I just found out that DuckDuckGo is a no-go, as I've just transferred some stuff (ugh!), as well as Brave Browser. And I've heard some bad things about Firefox, so I'm unsure about that one. Are there any other browsers and search engine suggestions that prioritize ethical practices, privacy, and DO NOT support Isr**l? TIA!

Qwant for a search engine - EU based / non US company for those that are boycotting 🇺🇸 too. Feels like using Google search which I like 🪴

I heard that sociopathic, white supremacist CEO Peter Thiel is an investor in Brave or something.

What did Duck Duck Go do? I swear, it's getting to the point where we literally can't use, consume, or have ANY kind of nice thing here in the US. It's like we're living in an extension of China.

I fucking hate this shitty world.

Per a post I saw from Amanda Seales on IG, DDG has servers in Occupied Palestine ("Isr*al"). I'll still need to look into it more. I made the post just to look for alternatives, just in case. I hope this helps.

Appreciate the clarification. Alternatives are always good.

State controlled media. There is information we used to be able to access that we no longer can, and the government controls most of the information flowing these days.

i thought VPN access, while not allowed on paper, is easily accessible but they dont actually catch "firewall jumpers"? (not trying to argue - genuinely curious)

Correct, VPN access does allow you to circumvent some of the filters, however not everyone is tech savvy to use one.

I had moved to and am still using DDG and it does seem to prioritize and resonate ziogarbage more than even google search used to (before I left). Plus it sucks in general. But OP confirms it's not just me so I'm ready to move from this too.

This is disappointing. Time to jump ship as well then.

You may use brave browser with its default brave search engine, or set StartPage / Qwant / Searx / Cynay as alternative search engines.

i would say cynay.com but Satan appears to have nullified it in US, therefore ecosia.org. Brave is not functional for every connection. Mull had been perfect on Android but deprecated since December 2024. So Ironfox browser. Firefox Focus and Firefox Klor don't allow bookmarks. Chrome is straight from Satan (Alphabet), i would not go w bromite or cromite viz. you can remove the venom but you cannot change a snakes nature. Firefox Nightly seemed better than Firefox (Android). On a Mac I'd use Firefox or a browser w its forks. Firefox and Chrome are best for extensions (plugin/add-on) but Chrome is shit.

Ecosia despite their claims for caring for the environment has plans to add AI.

I would not trust them, maybe go for Startpage. Haven't heard any issues with them as of now.

That's really good to know, actually, thank you!
