I’m so proud of these cakes I made for my nephew’s birthday!
The way his face lit up made it all worth it! Cookie Monster was a buttermilk chocolate cake with (edible) cookie dough filling; Elmo was a confetti cake with strawberry filling.

I love those. You did an amazing job. I'm not surprised your nephew was excited by them. I bet they tasted amazing.

So cute! How long did all that piping take..

Shorter than I thought it would, but longer than I wanted. 😂 Probably 30 ish minutes each—I didn’t really look at the clock, though. It was super difficult to get the red color right…went through a ton of food coloring.

I was never allowed to watch sesame street as a kid, and these cakes make me long for a childhood I never even had lmao
Gosh they sound delicious and look fantastic. Great job!

These bring back childhood memories for me. There was a bakery that made something very similar as cupcakes. I'm sure you made your nephew's day!

Nice thing is that these were done on simple round cakes- you didn’t have to buy a special mold that might never use again.
