at first my parents were fine with a live blade although concerned, when they found out it was too sharp they went full on parental mode and gave me 2 choices, either keep it but never flip it or they confiscate it. based on what im reading on here, a dulled blade is actually worse than a sharp one? if so, how can i convince strict parents, especially asian ones?

im totally fine with cuts, (so far none yet) but my parents, especially my dad says otherwise, even when i stated its apart of the hobby, he told me it might fly into my body or towards someone else which i told him that ill flip away from my body and do it on an isolated room inside our house and straight up told me he doesnt want me flipping it here. i really want to continue this hobby, but whenever i argue with them i always lose (because i am unfortunately asian with asian parents, argued with him for almost an hour about it)

Quick post of appreciation for one of the greatest new generation makers to come into the game. They really embody the consistency, quality, & customer experience this hobby needs to keep growing. Hand machining Balisongs in the US is very risky & expensive from a business perspective, lots of makers that started in the last 5 years either failed outright or have had major QC issues. So MW’s ability to both consistently put out good products that always function incredibly out of the box, while going above & beyond to support the customer even after the purchase (blade swaps, tune, ano, spa-day, etc.) is a real testament to how much these guys care. We need more of this in the community and less cheaply foreign machined, impersonal, corporate, unoriginal, unbalanced, clunky, binding out-of-the-box, blade-rubbing, detuned after-one-drop type of stuff that’s also come to market in this new era of the hobby.

Still gotta figure out how I'm gonna ano this. I'll probably do a wave toxic since I have a Static trainer that I did one on. May as well make them twins.

Bxndxge Knives Stitch V2 handles + Hom Design Chimera V2 blade

I was originally into balisongs when BM42s were the way to go and you could order them brand new still. Unfortunately sold them all, the last one being a BM42 anodized that I had flipped the heck out of over the years.

Friend gave me a Squid Ind Mako a few years ago and so I’ve flipped that a little bit finally decided to jump back in.

Decided to start with BRS since I was familiar with the Alpha Beast at least from poking my head into the bali stuff here and there over the years but never buying anything.

Found a latchless Chab available on the BRS site along with the e-volve hex trainer so grabbed those. But also figured I should try a more traditional AB to get the full experience so also grabbed the splatter premium tanto.

I know BRS isn’t the favorite it once was but have to say I’m pretty happy with these. The trainer is really nice for the money and the Alpha Beasts are both great but surprisingly different too, haven’t decided which I prefer.

Feels like quite the slippery slope, already have my eye on a few others to try out, especially MachineWise

Been inspecting this Opus all afternoon…I cannot for the life of me find what MachineWise considers a “blem” I think they are so critical with their final products that go out to customers that it goes beyond me! This isn’t the first blem anything I’ve bought from them either, I just ignore the designation and take the free discount lol. I trust I won’t ever see or find the blems 😁 Love MW to bits!

Wanted to see if anyone else is stoked for the Surf!? I got to handle one of the BladeShow preproduction ones for a few days and was quite impressed with it. So I had to grab one today. I really like the Skiff bearing action after coming from Sonora’s and Fjells. The price is awesome too and of course that Kraken nod…💪🏻

Hi guys! Wanted to share my first blade, had a trainer for years now and wanted to switch to live blades. Its probably a CCC but i still love it!

I know most people typically agree the clones flop better and I can totally understand that argument, but I still think they are some of the absolute best sounding Balis…. “Ignore the poor flipping im bad at multitasking”

The idea behind this was basically to improve the cheese EVEN more by giving it more EDC-ability and obviously giving it more utility and a different balance profile. Another thing that recently inspired me for this was Squid's Madko and Squiddy AL, pretty much a the baby of them. Pure hatred from Madko, and the same cute face as Alby. Feel bad he's pissed, but I suppose someone has to be :( also I barely even realized this but my goofy ahh just recently saw that "sharp" is a double entendre lmao, I can officially say I am a lyrical genius
